Tunnel Vision
Sometimes we get so caught up in what we think we want that we can walk right by what we exactly need and totally miss it .

I had this fleeting thought when I was sitting at my go to cafe sipping my coffee wannabe since I only order half the espresso shot and a huge cup of milk to overpower how it tastes trying to get some work done .. What spiked the idea was (not to your surprise) if you’re a regular guest here is Absolutely music . I had my airpods on and shuffled through spotify to find the right song for the moment because the people chatters was louder than the speakers on , it wasn’t until I paused for a sec that I heard “Riptide” blasting through the speakers and realised I have missed my fav verse in one of my fav songs ever , it’s “there’s this movie that i think you’ll like, this guy decides to quit his job and heads to new york city“ if you were wondering .. sorry for wasting your time if you don’t care about that tho . That’s a bit dramatic huh ? ‘heavily sighing‘ … Well to my luck we have music streaming apps now, I can replay it whenever I want. But what about the things we don’t get a second chance at ? no re-dos, no another attempt or better luck next time you idiot. ? You see ummm .. the problem here is always one thing or the other, it’s either that we think we know it all , we have it figured out ,we know that this and only this is what we want blah blah bleh, OR! that we know nothing at all.
Aaand we’re fully aware of how clueless we are that it’s not really about clinging to purpose and rather filling the hollow void with a placeholder . Figuratively speaking it’s the same theory as selective memory but only it’s selective vision this time, seeing only what we want to see and totally deliberately choosing to be oblivious to whatever else is there no matter how prettier , shinier or * richer * it is ( Iykyk lol ) . Generally speaking, what if that thing we’re missing out on is life happening around ? can we go back to music for a sec ? cause there is something urgent that needs to be DOCUMENTED , I did replay riptide on spotify btw and then the best thing happened, next on shuffle was Iris by Goo Goo Dolls “Septemper is Septemperingg 🍂👍”, there is a mom and her 3 kids 2 boys and 1 girl sitting at the table besides me and they started playing rock paper scissors and at the one next to it a middle aged man is having a cup of coffee with his I think about 13 year old girl , not something you’d see everyday now it makes you wanna pause, smile and believe in the world again .. I bet you’re now thinking this is one of those moments whennn?? …. Exactly! When life feels like a movie . . that’s what I thought too ..
I myself almost always have the tendency to romanticise life in all the ways there are, I stomp my feet to the beat, I talk to myself in public and I love to take me to dinner. But I think someone else out there is playing selective vision with their head shoved down a rabbit hole and too blind to see that, therefore it’s silently slipping through their fingers. Am I right ? Or am I right ? .
Alright, listen kid .. I'm not some 90 year old asian dude who knows it all okay ? I’m not your ketut or your fairy godmother .The thing is that I’ve been there before .. In the rabbit hole I mean. I was also too focused on what I thought I wanted or needed that I let millionS of other things that were actually so right slip away only because I was too busy holding the wrong ones too closely; sometimes I don't even remember why.. All I know is that I just did ..
You shouldn’t .. I once read a quote that said “ The universe will never give you peace in the places where you’re not meant to be. “ So if it feels like it doesn’t fit ?
run ..
Because trust me, Something else was made only to fit ..
