As people move Rafah, there is more struggle in the north and central Gaza.
With residents of Gaza continuing to flee the ongoing military incursion in Rafah, the situation there has taken an urgent turn, with reports of increasing violence in the northern and central regions. Witnesses and local sources describe violent confrontations between Israeli forces and Palestinian resistance groups that have left numerous civilians caught in the crossfire, painting a bleak picture.
Family members are frantically trying to find a safe place to hide from the constant bombardment during the evacuation of Rafah, the city that has been hit hardest by the fighting. Overwhelmed relief organizations are finding it difficult to give the displaced people food, shelter, and medical attention as a result of the exodus.
Concerns regarding the fate of those who are unable to escape and are stuck in the besieged city, where they will be subject to the full power of the military assault, are intensifying amidst the state of affairs. The international community needs to step in quickly to stop more innocent deaths while making sure that the Palestinian people's basic rights and dignity are upheld.
