Nestled in the heart of Nairobi city, Kenya, the University of Nairobi (UoN) stands as a pillar of education and scholarly excellence in East and Central Africa. Established in 1956, it boasts a rich history and vibrant campus life, attracting students not only from Kenya but across the continent and beyond. For example, it is the first and the only university in Kenya to have a school president of an international student i.e. Monica Malith, a South Sudanese law student.

UoN offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across 11 faculties, encompassing fields like Medicine, Engineering, Law, Agriculture, Humanities, and Social Sciences. It takes great satisfaction in its research-intensive atmosphere, which results in important work in fields including sustainable development, public health, and climate change. Because of this commitment, UoN has become known as one of Africa's best colleges, regularly placing among the top in fields like engineering, medicine, and agriculture.

Aside from academics, UoN promotes a vibrant and inclusive campus community. Students participate in different extracurricular activities, ranging from active sports clubs such as rugby and basketball and cultural associations to student-led initiatives that address social and environmental issues. The university also boasts several museums, botanical gardens which are mostly in Upper Kabete, and a bustling arts center, offering numerous opportunities for cultural engagement and personal growth.

UoN's impact reaches far beyond its premises. Its alumni hold key positions in government such as the new president, William Ruto, business, academia, and civil society, helping to shape Kenya's and the region's future.

It strives to adapt to society's evolving needs by providing relevant programs such Ajira yang ,MaishaBora and developing a generation of critical thinkers and responsible leaders who are prepared to face tomorrow's dilem .As it navigates the twenty-first century, the University of Nairobi remains devoted to its core values of academic achievement, research innovation, social responsibility, and diversity and inclusion.
