The Man who knew Jesus

Modern Satire

By Distinguished Honorary Alumni Dr. Matthew PrimousPublished 2 years ago 3 min read

I never stopped reading the Torah. I never stopped trying to figure out the truth about my people. I loved reading the stories and learning the lessons. I think I read it over and over again my whole life. The Torah made me feel strong and hopeful. We were God's chosen people and we were given the blessings of Abraham. The Romans may be strong and they may be tough. But they are no match for Jehovah. Jehovah defeated the Philistines, Chaldeans, Egyptians and many others. Jehovah is mightier than any god. Jehovah has a plan for us and He will save us. And I do believe in the Messiah, my father told me that there were many claiming to be the Messiah. There many trying to rescue us but they were slaughtered and killed by the Romans. But Jesus was particularly different. He said he can't quite understand Jesus. He teaches love, justice, truth and humility. He does miraculous signs and wonders. He knows the Torah and he makes powerful interpretations. And he said the leaders are jealous son. I don't know what they are gonna do to Jesus. Even the Romans are talking about him. And I was concerned. I said What if they kill Jesus? Why would they hurt a healer? Why would they hurt a man of love? And my father said Just keep studying the Torah, Jesus will be alright if he is a man of God or the Messiah. I turned and said They can't possibly kill Jesus. And my father and I kept working at the shop. We kept doing our part to make ends meet and put food on the table. And then I had a dream, Lias Lias behold I am with you even till the end of the ages. You will know me child. And I woke up sweating and I asked mother. Mother waited till father left to go hunting. And she said Lias they are gonna killed Jesus. You are no longer a boy anymore. You are becoming a man and your ceremony is coming soon. Just keep it together so the community can celebrate you. Celebrate your manhood and celebrate you being a man of God. Then you can go find everything you want to know about this Jesus. And so I thought the dream was just a nightmare and I kept working with father till my ceremony. And I made it to my ceremony but it was interrupted, it was Jesus' disciples in the community. And they said several months ago, the leaders and teachers of the Law killed our Master Jesus. They whipped him, beat him, gave him an unfair trial and crucified him. But he is not dead, he is yet alive. And I was about to smile to see Jesus' disciples, those who walk with Jesus. Those who spent time in his presence. Those who knew the Word of God. My parents grab me and left because the whole community was about to riot. Some believed and some did not. And my father told me Don't listen to them son. How could a man dead become alive again? And I said father as a new man. I must see. And my father threatened me but I said I had a dream several months ago and I believe it was Jesus calling me. And I found a way to leave my parents' house to find Jesus' disciples, so I went on a small journey to Jerusalem on a donkey. And I carried the Torah saying I come to see teachers and leaders. And they let me passed. And I found a man preaching about Jesus and I asked him to show me to Jesus' disciples. He was uncertain but he did and I saw Peter and the disciples. And Peter said Lias I know why you come. You come to know Jesus. Jesus talked with you in a dream and vision. And now that you became a man. Will you take of the Lord's Table? And I said Who is the Lord? And he said The Lord Jesus who died upon the cross for the remission of sin and was raised from the dead by his Father The Living God. And I fell to my knees and said I want to know the Lord. And Peter read me the rights and privilege. And that's how I became a man of Christ and I never looked back.
