The Donkey, the Fox, and the Lion – A Fool’s Three Mistakes
In a dense forest, there lived a mighty lion who ruled as king. He was feared by all the animals, and they followed his commands without question.
One day, the lion was extremely hungry. He was about to go hunting when he remembered his clever minister — the fox. He roared and summoned her:
"Fox! I’m starving. If you don’t bring me something to eat, I’ll eat you instead!"
The fox, known for her cunning and wit, immediately replied:
"My king, don’t worry. I’ll bring you a fresh and fat prey. Just wait a little."
The fox ran deep into the jungle where a simple, innocent donkey lived. This donkey never argued, never fought, and lived peacefully — grazing on grass, drinking water, and sleeping.
Using her sweet tongue, the fox said to the donkey:
"Oh dear friend! The king of the jungle is looking for a new minister. He has chosen you! You’re strong, you look noble, and you have a royal aura. Come with me — your destiny is about to change!"
The donkey was hesitant at first, but as he listened, he felt excited. He began dreaming of wearing a crown, sitting on a golden throne, and commanding all the other animals.
But as soon as they reached the lion, the lion attacked — biting off the donkey’s ears! The donkey screamed and somehow escaped, running for his life.
Hours later, after the donkey had calmed down, the fox came back.
"You lied to me!" cried the donkey.
"The lion tried to kill me instead of making me king!"
The fox sweetly replied:
"Oh, don’t be silly! He only bit your ears so the crown could sit properly on your head. It was just a royal ritual! You’re already close to being crowned!"
The donkey, confused and still naive, believed her. He thought, “Maybe I misunderstood. Maybe she’s telling the truth.”
And he went back with her to the lion.
This time, the lion bit off his tail! Again, the donkey managed to escape and shouted in pain:
"Now he bit my tail! You lied again!"
The fox, as calm as ever, said:
"That too was part of the process! You must not have a tail while sitting on the royal throne — it would be uncomfortable. Trust me, you’re just one step away from ruling!"
By now, the donkey was completely fooled. He trusted the fox again — a third time — and returned to the lion.
This time, the lion did not wait. With one fierce pounce, he killed the donkey.
The lion sighed in satisfaction and turned to the fox:
"Well done! You brought him back thrice. Now, skin him and bring me his brain, lungs, liver, and heart to eat."
The fox skinned the donkey, but when it came to the brain — she ate it herself.
When the lion sat to eat, he noticed something missing. He roared:
"Where is the brain?!"
The fox licked her lips and replied with a grin:
"My king, how could he have had a brain? If he had one, would he have come back to you three times — even after losing his ears and tail?"
The lion laughed loudly and said:
"You’re absolutely right! Such fools don’t deserve to live!"

Moral of the Story:
This story teaches us many deep lessons:
1. Those who don’t use their brains get fooled again and again.
2. A person who falls into the same trap three times is worse than a donkey.
3. Clever people always know how to trick the simple-minded with sweet words.
4. Before trusting someone blindly, do your research — or the result may be fatal.

So in the end, the message is simple:
Don’t be a donkey. 😎
If someone keeps hurting you, lying to you, or using you again and again — and you still keep trusting them —
Then the fault is no longer theirs... it’s yours.
If you understood the message, leave a comment ✍️
Otherwise, be ready to be the next donkey!
