The Cursed Throne

Folksong

By martin ThomsenPublished about a year ago 1 min read

The warriors marches forth

No one cares how much it cost

A mother has lost her son

And the battle is far from won

The war keeps raging on

The fight can be heard till dawn

The sky has seen the fight

The cries echos through the night

The king gave up his life

Left behind both a son and wife

In the castle no feast no song

My child you're a king be strong

The child inherits the war

Though he don't know what it's for

A child too young to lead

Sends others out to bleed

He tries to talk for peace

He want the war to seize

But the hatred can't be stopped

The fight will never be dropped

The child gets overthrown

By a soldier through battle got known

He takes the widow to him

Did all of it on a whim

He promised the war he would win

But soon he followed the king

People now curse the throne

Death follows quick is known

The war is done and lost

Everyone now knows the cost
