The Curious Case Of Theodore
How to defeat impostor syndrome, a story
The Curious Case Of Theodore
It was late, and Theodore was getting anxious. All this admin and all this work, but he wasn’t happy.
It felt like despite his 6 months of hard work, it just wasn’t worth it..
Spending every waking moment focusing on sales, while his faith in his abilities were as weak as ever.
There had to be a way to make a comeback of some kind..
Affiliate marketing was booming, and he’d spent months selling other people’s products through content creation on twitter, and sending hundreds of DMs
But he was tired.. Tired of sending DMs. Tired of getting rejected. Tired of writing tweets to rake in sales.
Who knew affiliate marketing just wasn’t scalable..
He thought about it again, again, and again.
No matter how many times he thought about his situation, he knew he had to branch out, because affiliate marketing just wasn’t cutting it anymore..
As his fingers slid over the computer keys, the darkness around him made him feel almost claustrophobic.
But it wasn’t normal claustrophobia, it was fear of failure..
And it was slowly closing in.
The subscription sales he made wasn’t going to last forever, especially with communities dying out, but how was he going to branch out?
That was when his lightbulb moment finally came!
Theodore realized it wasn’t his abilities that were holding him back, but his lack of confidence in his own abilities.
So what did he do? He decided to contact his fiend Ian
He sent me a message on twitter and he said, “I’m thinking of releasing a course, but I don’t think it will work”
The moment I heard these words, I knew what we’re going to do.
You see, Theodore had established himself as the affiliate marketing authority, after doing over $35,000 in affiliate sales, and at the time he had about 25,000-35,000 followers on twitter
So I helped him write a course based on affiliate marketing.
It took 2 months to setup, and despite all his protesting and uncertainty, I told him it would be a hit
Guess what? It did $2000 in sales, and people LOVED it
And that’s the story of how Theodore added “course creator”, to his reputation.
Remember, if he never spoke to me, it would never have been published, all because he was doubting himself, despite all he had achieved.
It broke my heart to see one of the people I had so much admiration and respect for, not have any faith in his own abilities.

So what’s the lesson for this week?
Launch your product or service, even if you don’t feel ready
Btw, I'm heavily against the "pick a niche" thing
Its nonsense
I'm so against it, that I created an entire free course about it
It teaches you an entire content creation strategy for social media, while talking about anything you want
Now more worrying about:
What content to post
Sticking to a niche as a creator
Worrying that nobody will like your posts
Scared nobody will want to buy your products or novels
Why?
