See Yourself Through Others That Admire You
They are oftentimes not those that live with you
It's time to get mighty clear about what makes you happy and what makes you feel the most alive, and then create it instead of pretending you can't have it.
Greetings, Badass! The cards in this deck were created from my book, You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. Half the cards contain quotes you can use as affirmations, intention-setters, wake-up calls, and reminders of how powerful and lovable you are. The other half contain exercises and loving kicks in the rear to get/keep you moving in the direction you want to go and to help you push yourself out of your comfort zone. Jen Sincero
Jen Sincero's You are a Badass Deck Believe you are awesome - Try seeing yourself through the eyes of someone who admires you. They get it. They believe in you leaps and bounds. They aren't connected to your insecurities and negative beliefs about yourself. All they see is your true glory and potential. Become one of your own die-hard fans, look at yourself from the outside, where all your self-doubts can't crawl all over you, and behold what shines through.
This week I was at a meeting where two people in the meeting mentioned that they always get something from listening to me. One said they always enjoy what I have to say and today was something important for them.
For 46 years I have worked with people in recovery. I have listened to many of their stories of recovery spoken in public settings. All of them thank me publicly and appear to admire all the great things they have gotten from me.
It helps to refer to my own experience with sponsors to help me to understand this admiration as I received so much help and support from my sponsors over the years.
Many others have mentioned how much they admire me for owning and riding a motorcycle. I had a motorcycle and rode in my late teens, early 20s, before my second child was born. Then with 2 children I didn't buy and ride my own bike again until my baby was 21 years old.
It has now been 26 years of riding and at 70, I am considering sizing down or not riding. My husband is not ready for either but I may be. I don't have to decide this year.
Then there is the husband, whom I live with. I think for the most part he admires me. He would say, "I picked you didn't I"
As I have mentioned in prior stories my husband and I do not agree on politics. We are on opposite ends. And I am Native American and he doesn't really get racism and even though I lived it he doesn't understand. He was raised on a reservation and didn't notice differences he says.
Tonight I commented to a grandson who was talking about the difference between the borders of Mexico and the borders of Canada. I said one thing I think comes into play is our country is more strict about Mexico because they are brown people. I wasn't thinking, it just came out.
He didn't like that and said "You are spreading hate!" I said, you have white privilege, so you are not privy to what I experience and what I hear and see. And then it occurred to me that this was about politics. So it ended there. We agree to not go there.
Jen Sincero's You are a Badass Deck - You created the reality you now exist in with your thoughts, which means you can use the very same power of thought to change it.
With one of my affirmations, when I remember to say in the mirror, Hi, Beautiful! I feel better during the day. I know affirmations work. I just don't have the habit down yet.
Age is catching up to me though. The wrinkles are showing and when I am not noticing mine, I am noticing other women, who are my age.
My gratitude list is important to remember to say every day. With it the negativity can float away. Negativity is so easy to find all by myself and with certain others in my life.
Creating reality with my thoughts is something I will spend some more time with in working on these prompts. I have always thought I was pretty good at working them but not as good as I could be.

You always give such life affirming stories that one can learn something. I am a person that really does not see color or creed. A person is a person and we are created in the creator's image. I know you are Native American, but there is a supreme being out there and not sure if and cannot remember what the Native American name is for God if there is one.
Thanks for the uplifting words and excellent story telling
It's good that your husband never experienced racism. It's really terrible!
