Sanctified Sin
Velvet Noir Society: Dark Poetry

You prayed for salvation.
I showed up instead—
barefoot, bleeding,
wrapped in midnight
and the scent of your final breath.
You touched me like confession,
lips trembling on my skin
as if forgiveness could be earned
between my thighs.
I whispered your name
into the hollow of your soul,
and it echoed back
as something holy.
Something ruined.
They warned you of demons.
So you begged an angel
to stay.
