A few years ago I started noticing that every Rich man in the world or every trending billionaire had and has a habit of READING. And this poked me so bad every single day, not because I hated reading books but just because I wanted not to spend my precious time executing this boring act.

A whole year full of this world war inside me knowing the benefits of reading books (of course non-curriculum) but not wanting to actually undergo the act, I finally after a year decided to read a single book just to see it's effect on my mental and spiritual health.

Hence, the first book that I read was "apni talaash" by Qasim Ali Shah, a mentor and famous motivational speaker of Pakistan. This book in English says, " Self-Discovery". I won't say that this book changed my life forever. Because things like this are more of a heroic expression to express something in my opinion. But of course it lead me to a way where I could see that the objective of life is of how much importance in an individuals life.

"THE REAL PROBLEM"

The guilt that I faced while reading was that I felt discouraged on knowing that I would not remember every important and highlighted word of this book. And mere that fact was eating me up. I was totally agreed by the fact that it's useless to read something that you're not even going to remember.

The Solution I found

Anyhow, I with my low self-esteemed heart continued to read the book and at the end I actually found myself remembering its one or probably two quotations. When I did the survey about the knowledge I gained from that book, I found out that out of approx. 100 pages what I could keep in my mind was only these two stories, I felt really sad. Time passed by and there came moments in my life when a bunch of people debated about a point and that exact story out of 2 stories I had remembered from the book cam across my mind and I narrated it. At that moment I realized that wow! I was considering those two stories nothing and they resulted in a praise of my knowledge at the party. What could my knowledge which i gain from many different book do ?

This was my journey that got me into reading books...

Is there any story of yours? I would love to hear it !
