Paid Subscriptions - My Perks

I won't lie. When I first saw the new "exclusive stories" or the new "paid subscribers" update, my first thought was, 'Who would pay for MY exclusive stories?'. I began panicking... wondering what on earth would I ever use that for. How would I ever use that feature? But... this new feature could, maybe, just maybe, help me guide my way towards my own passions.

Writing is something that I've always felt I was destined to do... even when every person in my life doubted me.

As a freshly twenty-six-year-old who just broke herself out of a toxic home after four years of suffering, I feel what better time than NOW to actually put my main focus on following my own passions. I'm still in college, so I'm still technically trying to "find myself out" (I know- I'm technically a late bloomer... but college is really hard to complete when you're filled to the brim with anxiety and unsure about what path you want to take to jumpstart your adult life).

I've just recently started putting more effort back into my social media/content creation over on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Why not use that same energy towards my writing as well? It's basically the entire reason as to why I pretty much reactivated my Vocal page again. A slow beginning that'll venture me off into doing exactly what I love.

Why should YOU consider joining my paid subscription program?

Well... this feature is still new to all of us, including me. As well as I am still branching out when it comes to Vocal. I mean, I'm still figuring this page out- or where I want to go writing-wise. I even still get giddy when I see one person like one of my published stories... getting a new subscriber makes me actually light up.

As I am still figuring this paid subscription feature out for myself, I feel as if it may change as I grow out my Vocal. But, as of right now, I want to use it to just write. Freely.

What's Included in My Paid Subscriptions?

1) Journal Entries/Blogging

"Blogging? What on Earth does that mean?" I've always felt like using Vocal as a small blogging space. Some place where I could come to vent if I needed to. Typically, I've used my poetry to vent out feelings (if you couldn't tell), but I've just wanted to venture more off into actually turning my vents into longer pieces of work. Fictional stories... Non-fictional stories... Whatever feels right, I'd write it down. Blogging worked out pretty well for my father, why can't I give it a try as well?

This feature would basically just be me putting a small piece of me out to my readers. That way, no matter who you are or where in the world you are, we'd always be connected in a way.

2) Fictional Stories/Chapters

If you've taken a peek at my page, you probably noticed that I have written quite a few stories of fiction. "A few" being an understatement. I've also taken to writing fictional stories that involve chapters. They're stories that I've never actually completed (I'm so sorry for that by the way, writer's block is a b*tch), but hey! Maybe I'd decide to complete them using this feature. Or maybe I'd decide to rewrite the older chapters, adding them into this feature. You'd just have to wait and see!

Besides, I love writing. Like now- it's currently after midnight, I have to be up early for classes tomorrow, yet I couldn't sleep so I decided to just turn on some late-night tunes and turn to Vocal to let some thoughts escape my head.

3) Venting-Type Poetry

Okay. Hear me out.

I can already see every single one of you giving me a puzzled look as you read the third option. At least one of you probably immediately went, 'Don't you already post that for free? You're going to stop?'. No. Those are the easiest forms of writings I come up with... I mean, you must see my drafts. I have a ton of them just sitting there... waiting to be completed and published.

By "Venting-Type Poetry", I just mean I'd split the poetry writings in half. 50/50. That way I'd have some freebies for those to read and if someone (somewhere... maybe, I don't know) actually enjoys them, you could find even more to read in the exclusives.

Venturing out of my writing funk with this idea is going to be fun and I'm pretty excited to start doing it.
