Mysteries of the universe
Asking burning questions
From the very beginning of existence, starting from the unicellular organisms to the most complex creatures always had one thing in common. It is that life equates to light. The natural preference of most life is to search for the light.
Just like the song Echoes by Pink Floyd, which is a journey from the beginning of life to the present. In the second stanza of the song,
"And no one showed us to the land.
And no one knows the where's or why's.
But something stirs and something tries.
And starts to climb toward the light"
It says life began in the dark abode of the deep bosom of the ocean and started to climb towards the surface, where it sees light for the first time.
For ancient Greeks, light guided us toward the Truth, just like a compass in the deep heart of a jungle. Light has always been associated with a religious symbolic meaning, as a symbol of positivity, hope, vision, clarity, and optimism.
On the other hand, darkness is associated with evil, malice, and pessimism. Whatever it is, our life is surrounded by this duality of existence, in Yin and Yang, Ida and Pingala, Light and Dark, Good and Bad, etc.
Why does light seem so peace-giving and darkness as something fearful even though both are the creation of God?
The Biblical meaning of darkness includes death and chaos. If we consider this universe to be created by an omnipotent God, shouldn't we consider every bit of light and dark to be the same thing, things of the same source? And why would God create something called pain and darkness? The most prominent answer to this question is that God has not created evil and malice. It is just an illusion and is considered to be the absence of Good and Beauty.
Now the question arises how do you determine what is good and bad? Does a newborn baby know the difference between good and bad? From the moment we are sent to school with our heavy
bags, we have been institutionalized. Our senses are hijacked with a barrage of external stimuli. Do we even trust ourselves? The answer to the mystery of existence lies probably in the deep bosom of our hearts. We are the universe experiencing itself. The search for the answer only brings more questions. We long to understand the mystery of the universe but our time is limited. So in that way, we come to some false conclusion, sort of our own fabricated unified theory that explains everything to satiate our senses.
What happens after we know all the answers? Does life hold any value after that? We are on the journey, forever will, with the hope for a destination.
Even if there is one single truth, there have to be numerous pathways to return to that Ultimate. More life happens, more truth blossoms, and more paths are revealed, so everyone is unique in their way but there is a common truth that we are part of the Universe, children of the stars. If the ocean is the absolute truth then the rivers are also the truths.
Hello everyone! This is my first post on this platform. More to come. I tried to keep it short and concise. It would be great if anyone here let me know about the best way to post about topics. I like to share my insights on various topics of art and sciences. I would love to have your feedback. It will help me grow and correct my mistakes.
