My Near-Death Experience: Interview with Renee Kay.

Messages from beyond: what my soul experienced.

By Cathy (Christine Acheini) Ben-Ameh.Published 8 months ago 3 min read

I’m honored to share something incredibly personal and life-changing with you.

I recently sat down with Renee Kay for an in-depth conversation about my Near-Death Experience (NDE). The interview just premiered, and for the first time on video, I opened up about what happened during that extraordinary moment in my life—when I left this world, encountered something far greater, and came back changed forever.

You can now watch the full interview above.

This conversation was more than just a retelling of an event—it was a spiritual unfolding. I spoke with Renee about the circumstances that led to my experience, what I felt and saw when I was no longer in my body, and how the encounter with the "other side" continues to shape who I am every single day. We talked about light, presence, timelessness, and the overwhelming sense of love and peace I encountered—things that words struggle to fully capture, but that I hope came through in our exchange.

For anyone who has ever asked, “What happens when we die?” or “Is there more than this physical life?”, this interview may offer some insight—or at least raise the kinds of questions that open us up to something bigger than ourselves.

In a separate piece I wrote a while ago, I described the experience in more detail, including some of the spiritual and emotional shifts that followed. If you’d like to read it, you can find that article here:

In that piece, I talk about how my NDE wasn’t just a one-time event—it’s something I live with every day. The after-effects include a heightened sensitivity to energy, a stronger intuitive sense, and an expanded view of what truly matters in life. Many people who have had NDEs report similar changes: a decreased fear of death, a deeper compassion for others, and an inner knowing that we’re all connected to something divine.

During my time with Renee, I felt safe to express not only what happened but how it continues to ripple through my relationships, my spiritual path, and even the small everyday moments. I’m thankful for her openness, and for creating the kind of space where I could speak my truth without judgment.

This interview isn’t just about my story—it’s about opening the door to a conversation that I believe more people are ready to have. Near-death experiences aren't rare, and yet many who go through them keep quiet, unsure of how to share what can often feel unexplainable. I hope that by sharing mine, others will feel encouraged to reflect on their own inner experiences—whether mystical, spiritual, or simply transformative.

If you do take the time to watch, I’d truly love to hear your thoughts. Whether you're curious, skeptical, or spiritually open, your reflections matter to me.

Speaking it out loud in this interview felt like crossing another threshold—one of vulnerability, trust, and honesty. It’s not always easy to talk about something so intimate and mysterious, especially when words can never fully capture the depth of the experience.

But I believe stories like these matter. They remind us that there's more to life than what we see, that consciousness is vast, and that perhaps, in ways we don't fully understand, we’re all connected to something eternal and loving.

We live in a world that often encourages silence around the unseen and the things we don't understand so this is my small way of pushing back against that silence—and inviting wonder.

If you choose to watch, thank you for taking the time. If it stirs something in you, I hope it encourages you to explore your own journey—whatever form that takes.

Your presence here means a lot.

Let’s keep exploring what lies beyond the surface, together.

I couldn't complete the interview yesterday because my phone died,no light.But.. . going through the interview now,i just felt i should let you know you are meant to be a life giver,a hope to the hopeless,and...as renee said.. .. you're not meant to be a pop star.Pop music is just to entertain, your assignments are much more than that.I want you to do a contrast between your story and the story of joseph in the bible, what the enemy meant for evil, God has turned it to good.I'd like to know where you're from in nigeria, the name "Ameh" looks familiar.I love you with the love of God!
