My goals for 2025

I am going to talk about my goals for Vocal and life for 2025, but first I want to review my Vocal goals for 2024. Let's see how well I did.

My first goal was to get a top story. I did that with a non-fiction story. It was about the concerts I went to in 2023 and the lessons I learned in the process.

Second was to place in a challenge. I did not accomplish this goal.

Third was to be more involved. I will give myself a half accomplished for this one. At times I was really involved. Of course, those times were mostly at concerts waiting in line or waiting for it to start or in-between sets.

Fourth was to write one poem and one fiction or nonfiction piece a month. I will say I failed on this one. I did write a good amount, but it came in batches.

Fifth was to reach 750 views. I crushed this goal.

Another was to win the weekly challenges. I have not done that yet.

My last goal I did accomplish, it was to have at least one read one every story and poem. Right now, there are a few with no reads, but they are new.

I didn't accomplish my bonus goal. That was to publish in different categories.

Let's move on to my 2025 goals. We will start with my Vocal goals. A lot will be the same.

My first goal is to reach 1000 reads. I think this will be easily doable. I am at 870 right now. If I can't get 130 views in a year I need a new hobby.

My second goal is to place in a challenge. That will require me to enter as many as

I can. I haven't been doing that lately. I know there will be times throughout the year that I will take a break and not enter any for a while. I am going to try and not do that this year.

My third goal would be to get to 150 stories. I am only 16 away. This should be easy to do. I would like to write more fiction stories. I have a hard time writing original ones without a prompt from Vocal or other places.

My bonus goal from last year will become my fourth goal for this year. That is to write in different categories. I really want to expand my writing.

My fifth goal is to again be involved more. That means reading, liking, and connecting more. That also means entering more contests.

My bonus goal for 2025 would be to get a top story for a fiction piece. That would be a dream. Another bonus goal would be to get a new story to over 200 likes. My record is 194.

Let's move on to my life goals for 2025.

My first one is a little strange. I would like to go to fewer concerts than I did in 2024. I went to 24. I think this year I am already planning for at least 10. I have 2 big trips planned already. One to Kentucky and one to Tampa. As long as we are talking about doing something less, I would like to spend less money on Lottery and save more of what I do win.

My second goal is a 2 parter. The goal is to be healthier. This will be accomplished by getting a gym membership and figuring out a workout plan that I can do to get healthy. That includes making time to go and resting when I need to. The second part is food. I want to start eating better and meal prepping and cooking more. Hopefully this will lead me to losing a little weight. If I lose a little belly and gain it in muscle that will be ok also.

My third goal is along with my Vocal writing I would like to publish another book. I would love for it to be a novella or a short book. I am not sure I could write a full length novel. If not that, the harder option would be a collection of short stories. The third maybe easier option would be a collection of poems. That was what my first book was. My stories have changed a lot since I wrote those poems.

My fourth goal is to maybe find a companion. I say companion because I am asexual and aromantic. I said maybe because at times I feel like I am ready and then others I am not. It would be nice to have someone to go to a few concerts with.

My fifth goal is to start saving money. I finally have my car paid off. That will help and me cutting down on lottery will also help. The one thing that may hurt a little is that I am vegetarian and if I start actually cooking it will be a little expensive.

Those are my goals for 2025. Hopefully I can accomplish most of my Vocal goals and stick to my life ones.
