Moon

Moon's Love

By Alexandra GrantPublished 2 months ago 1 min read
Moon Over Destin Mid May

Moon

In light you slumber hidden, secure

Away from sight, but never absent

Your influence on land and shore

Patiently waiting your time, content

At twilight seen to rise, awaken

To chase your love, your desire

She runs from you yet your still taken

By her light, her warmth, her fire

Elusively you search the skies

But cannot find her there

She teases shining on your face, your eyes

You’ll keep pursuing fully aware

O moon, infatuated, you love her dearly

Love’s only chance to catch its mate

Just on occasion will you touch her nearly

Forever longing, suffering your fate, oh moon, how desperate the sadness

Your lover, sun, elusive evermore

Your eclipsing love, all fleeting moments

Though bound, in a marriage, you endure

Knowing her, your Sun, yet never to catch her

Your light, your sun, your love, keeps running

Always to be apart as two, not one

You beam in darkness, and she in light,

yet both equally stunning
