I Wrote a Collection of Paranormal Horror Stories

Inspired by fear, my fascination with the paranormal, and the mysteries of the unexplained

Over time, over the course of about a year and a half, I’ve been writing paranormal horror stories each with a focus on the fears and mysteries of the unknown.

It's kind of weird how I got started because while I enjoy certain kinds of horror like paranormal, psychological horrors, and thrillers (just no body horror or excessive gore, please!) it never crossed my mind to write any.

Once I started writing more, my goal was to eventually write enough stories to make a book out of them.

Eventually, after writing 25 stories, that day finally came.

My intentions were to originally publish my collection of paranormal horror short stories in time for Halloween however, that didn’t go as planned.

I could have made it happen however I am a strong believer in never rushing work and sacrificing quality. As a writer or any creative for that matter, it is crucial to only offer your best as to what you know you are capable of.

And besides, publishing the first week of November, I wasn’t too far off from my desired publication date.

November is still an ideal time for a spooky read. As a matter of fact, there's no wrong time of the year to read horror if you’re a horror fan!

My paranormal horror stories will focus on the fears and mysteries of the unknown and the unexplained.

I was inspired to write these stories because of my fascination with such mysteries and the concept that there are things in this world that can't be explained. Both reading and watching paranormal based books and shows has always been my weird and guilty pleasure.

My intention of these paranormal horror stories is that readers will experience the kind of fear that lingers long after they've finished reading it. Tales that just makes one think.

Some of these stories are loosely based on real life experiences that happened to me or personal fears.

I wrote one story, “The Mirror” based on my irrational fear of looking into a mirror in the dark. Come on! I can’t be the only one that has this fear!

“The Sleep Demon” was inspired by my experience with sleep paralysis. Any one who has ever experienced this phenomenon even once knows how frightening it can be!

Other stories were inspired solely by my imagination and dreams I’ve had as well as various urban legends.

"The Bus that Traveled to Nowhere" is based on an urban legend out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania about a mysterious bus that picks up unsuspecting passengers for a ghostly ride.

"Hello? Hello?" was based on the idea of a toy phone being haunted by a mischievous spirit.

One notable thing about these stories is that every one of them is that they fall in that strange twilight state between imagination and reality. The vibe I am going for with each of these stories is inspired by The Twilight Zone. I’m leaving it up to the reader to decide what is real.

My book is available on Amazon as a Kindle e-book, paperback, and hardback. Maybe eventually, I'll do an audio book version as well.

25 tales of paranormal horror!

An e-book promoter, Bookthulu Promotions did a phenomenal job promoting my collection of horror stories! They offer promotions for speculative fiction (sci-fi, fantasy, and horror). I highly recommend them!😁

Another fun idea I had to help promote my book is to put a copy in one of those "free little libraries". In case you aren't familiar, "free little libraries" are little book shelves that are placed outside and protected from the elements and where any one can borrow (or keep if they so desire) and trade books of all kinds. I always leave a book if I do take one.

I'm so thrilled to have finally joined the club of "published author". I'm not stopping there though as this certainly won't be the last time I publish!
