i am deranged
you have to be destroyed in some way if thousands of people loved you

I want to nominate Deranged by David Bowie. I only recently discovered it, but from the very first few seconds, it started to mean the world to me. The way David Bowie sings “I’m deranged” is so beautiful — it completely encapsulates me. I feel like I can really relate to it.
The music behind it is also insane — it’s such a good piece of art. It unveils this beautifully tragic side of David Bowie, like he’s expressing something deeply personal through the song. Behind the smiling, charming Bowie we saw in interviews and in other work, you realize that, like all human beings, it was also insanely painful to be him too.
