How I Overcame the Stranger Things Finale
As one Upside Down Door Closes, Another Eldritch One Opens

Regardless of your thoughts on the finale of Stranger Things, there are many of us around the world reaching a collective close to a chapter in our lives. When our favorite stories or series end it’s a time where the word melancholy seems most useful. The kind of sadness that you can’t quite explain. It may be the weather, the season, or a mixture of a number of things, but it generally is a solemn feeling for things of minuscule consequence that are often out of our control.
I recall the finale of shows I watched as a kid being some of the most heartbreaking moments of my childhood. How many of us spent all of our evenings with a group of friends we didn’t even know, but who also knew how it felt when it hasn’t been your week, your month, or even your year? All this to say, it’s hard to bid goodbye to a great series when the time finally comes for its inevitable sunset.
If, like me, you find yourself struggling to move forward at a story's end, I’ve found the best fix to always be creating something of my own. That's why I wrote and published a new audiobook Podcast on Spotify which you can listen to now called, The Tendrilled Empress.
The Tendrilled Empress Podcast on Spotify
My goal with the podcast wasn’t just to create something with a story that I was passionate about, but to also create a platform for myself and other writers to get share and discuss their work. I love other podcast groups' ways of showing appreciation for supporters by helping spotlight their work and acting as a community to bond over shared interests.
This is something I hope to offer with the Tendrilled Empress podcast, as well as a new, robust story that people can enjoy. If you think you have a poem or story to share, or want to be part of a community that cares about writing, the Tendrilled Empress is for you. Whether you just want to listen to an episodic new series with a compelling plot, or whether you want to join a community of writers who want to write, I hope you give it a chance and consider supporting it.
So fight back against the melancholy, create something of your own, start a new story, whether its through listening or writing it yourself! The point of the Tendrilled Empress podcast is to hopefully inspire others to create and enjoy more stories themselves.
