How do you define romance?
Some people think of romance and they think of classical things like red roses, walks on the beach, dancing, kisses, chocolate, etc. I would like to pose a writing prompt here for anyone interested in writing about what they think is romantic. Do you find stereotypical things romantic? Or, are you a bit more quirky with your romantic preferences? How do you think various cultures around the world view romance differently? It’s Not So Black and White
Do you ever feel like some people treat problems as if the solution is black and white? In reality the solution feels gray - just plain gray. As in there is not necessarily a right or wrong way to go about solving the problem. I get a bit aggravated when people make it seem like any given problem in life is as simple as solving a basic math equation. There have been many people that look at me and I can tell they’re confused by me in general. Why am I not used to this yet? I’m not sure. Maybe another thirty years of life will help me have some wisdom about this. In this writing prompt write a piece about an experience you had where you were in a situation that felt gray. Maybe someone in your life made it seem like there was a black and white solution to your problem but you didn’t feel like it was so clear cut. How did they make you feel in this position you were in? Did this experience help you grow?

Have the point-of-view character presume something entirely different about the situation from what the other character's overt behavior seems to imply. For example, a landlord comes to visit, and the tenant suspects that it isn't a visit but an inspection. Make up several situations in which one character can fantasize or project or suspect or even fear what another character is thinking. The Objective - To show how your characters can use their imaginations to interpret the behavior and dialogue of other characters.

Point The Blame At Your Heart
I write some poems, but not as many as others on Vocal. Most of my poems are about love—wanting love, sad love, or feelings of love. I think I am a big softie inside! Here we go. We blame love stuff on our hearts. We say “loving you with all my heart” and “you break my heart.” All love and feelings are linked to our hearts. We blame everything good or bad on hearts.
