He created man from a spring of water.

Then He made him related by lineage and related by marriage.

The verse we will ponder deeply on this time is a miraculous description of the creation of man. It is a verse in the Quran where Allah reminds man of his own origin and calls him to a deeper understanding and responsibility. That verse is:

"He created man from a single drop of fluid; then He made him related by lineage and marriage. Your Lord is over all things competent."

— (Surah Al-Furqan, verse 54)

Each word of this verse is like a door through which man can enter the mystery of his own existence. It is said at the beginning—"He created man from a single drop of fluid." Here, the 'drop of fluid'—in Arabic "ماءٍ دافق"—refers to a moving, flowing seminal fluid, which is the beginning of human creation. Modern biology has recognized the fact that human life begins with the union of a sperm and an egg, which is a miraculous process. But when the Quran declares this truth, it is not limited to a scientific fact; rather, it becomes a mirror of introspection.

This verse breaks the pride of man. Today's man has started thinking with the power of technology and knowledge - he may have unlimited power. He knows the design of the galaxy, the structure of DNA, the structure of the nucleus. But Allah tells him - you were once a very insignificant liquid substance like a fountain. You yourself do not know when your existence began, who brought you from that position to this point. This remembrance creates humility within man.

Then the verse says - "Then He made him related by lineage and related by marital ties". This sentence sheds light on the social structure of man. The Quran says here - you are not just a body, you are the successor of a lineage. Allah has created man in such a way that family, social and human ties are formed within him. You did not come to the world alone, you came as the inheritance of your predecessors. This relationship—'nasab' and 'sahar'—means lineage and marital relationship, the important basis of human identity.

No matter how much modern society stands on 'individualism' or person-centered thinking, the truth is that man is a social being. His identity is formed by his lineage, his family, his society. The Quran recognizes that structure in this verse and says—behind this system too, there is a master—your Lord.

The marital relationship is specifically mentioned here because it distinguishes humans from animals. Animals only meet out of instinct, but humans are bound by marital ties—within a social, moral, and legal framework. This is not only a sign of human civilization, but also part of an enlightened way of life, which is given by Allah.

Finally, the verse says—"Your Lord is omnipotent over all things." This is a great declaration. It is explained that the creation of man is not just a divine event; This is a complete, planned and wise work done by the Almighty Creator. He did not just create, He also gave it beauty, relationships, responsibilities and structure.

This verse moves man in two ways. First, it reminds him—you were created from a very insignificant element, there is no room for pride. Second, it makes him responsible—you come from a lineage, as part of a society; your job is not only to build your own life, but also to build society, family, and future generations.

This verse teaches a man to think about himself in a new way. He understands that every cell of his body, every fiber of his soul, his family and marital relationships—all are part of God's plan. This realization leads man to God, and at the same time motivates him to lead his life responsibly.

This verse is not just a creation story, it is a memoir, a search for self-identity, and a guide to a God-centered philosophy of life. Let people see their faces in the mirror of this verse every day—where I came from, where I am going, and who sent me.

If you want, I can start discussing the next verse. Tell me, where should I start?
