I know we’re all scattered across different time zones (EST for me), but I would love to have a Zoom call with some of you crazy fuckers and hear your accents (you can hear mine now if you click the link at the end of Sacrificial Fire) and just talk. So, if this is something you also think would be fun, drop your optimal days & times (include your time zone or do the math to figure out what EST that would be). Informal—drop in, drop out, and I promise not to assign homework (like I’m hard up for shit to grade). If even just one person is up for this, I’ll figure out a time/day and post another Happy Hour piece with a link.
I hope this is appealing to others & doesn’t break any rules that might get me in trouble (just kidding, trouble is my hometown, not scared of it).
Let's give it a try, and who knows, maybe it will catch on and become a thing. For now, I'm just trying to read the room and see if anyone wants to meet virtually and see how that feeds our creativity.

I have no idea what this is going to be, other than a reaction to a student essay I graded this morning, a personal narrative about a day this summer when she, eight months pregnant, and her fiancé went to the laundromat on a Saturday morning. My hands are stained and trembling with a clear, crimson red. A rich and ugly sight to behold, I wonder who is dead. Who’s blood do I have smeared all over me? I don’t think to wash it off, it’s almost exposure therapy, to see how long I could last, evidence, for all to see, show them I am a bad person, so I can be free.

Interested. I am. There are ways to hear my accent already but I'm down in theory.
Sounds intriguing, just like Big Pete there :) My accent is the typical Southern one. One man from San Francisco said I could do the Shake and Bake commercials. (But you are probably too young to remember them.) Group zooming might be fun, but I only have sound and no camera.
