“The moon reminded me of you.”

Her: Look, a half-moon! It’s been quite a while eh?

Him: fascinated?

Her: It’s like you.

Him: What? Am I some light in the dark? Cheesy.

Her: More of a half-good and a half-bad. Acting so tough up there pretending you like how it feels — to be alone. When all along your other half is here beaming some light by his presence to wherever the other can’t reach.

Him: Huh? Of all the people, you know how bad of a company I am. I’m not good with it, you know, talking — those sweet talk girls want. I’m not it.

Her: Yeah. But there’s something you are good at. I don’t think you know it.

Him: What?

Her: Mmm, you can tell things others won’t. You told me how stupid I am for the choices I made. When everyone I knew pushed me into something they thought was good for me, you were the one who pulled me out asking if it was something I wanted for myself. You taught me how to consider myself, I know it’s not an easy thing to do. Stubborn as I am but you never gave up on me. See? I don’t have a word for it but I like it.

we are all standing on a pole

ends are pulling in

if the ends would bend for the other

then a circle can be —

if only ends would meet.
