Are you a final-year female student or recent graduate in Juba, South Sudan, eager to gain invaluable professional experience and leadership skills?
The Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS), in partnership with the Good Shepherd Educational Foundation (GSEF), announces the call for expressions of interest for the Female Student Internship Program (FSIP) – Cohort VI
This highly competitive program, now in its sixth iteration, is designed to nurture the leadership potential of talented female students and fresh graduates. For five months, successful candidates will gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship, develop critical skills, and expand their professional networks. Our previous five cohorts have already supported over twenty South Sudanese female students, preparing them to become agents of positive change and future leaders in South Sudan's development.
Available Internship Roles (Hybrid, Juba)
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals for the following positions:
Program and Resource Mobilisation Assistant (1)
- Assist in developing program proposals and reports.
- Support fundraising efforts and donor outreach.
- Help manage program budgets and financial tracking.
- Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of program activities.
Communications Assistant (1)
- Draft and edit communication materials (e.g., press releases, social media posts).
- Assist in managing social media platforms and website content.
- Support event planning and promotion.
- Help maintain media relations and internal communications.
Finance Assistant/Accountant (1)
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and financial record-keeping.
- Support preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Help ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
School Nurse (1)
- Provide first aid and emergency care to students.
- Administer medications and manage student health records.
- Conduct health screenings and promote health education.
- Liaise with parents, teachers, and medical professionals regarding student health.
High School Science Teaching Assistant (1)
- Preparing and setting up lesson plans and scheme of work
- Provide support to students during lesson delivery and assignments.
- Offer tutoring and extra help to students as needed.
- Provide support to students during practical sessions and assignments.
Project Officer (2)
The project officer will assist our program and project managers in planning and executing projects, managing timelines, and ensuring that our activities align with our mission and long-term goals.
Finance and Administrative Officer (1)
The Finance and Administration Officer will support the Finance and Administration Manager in managing the organisation’s finances by assisting with budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with financial regulations.
The internship duration is five months, with a proposed start date of Monday, August 4th, 2025.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidates are:
South Sudanese female students in their final year or recent graduates with no prior internship or work experience.
Equipped with a personal computer (PC) and smartphone with regular internet access for hybrid work.
Proficient in computer and smartphone skills, including internet use and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent in written and spoken English, with conversational Juba Arabic.
Passionate about education support projects, youth empowerment, health, media and information literacy (MIL), research, and peacebuilding.
Possessing exceptional interactive and interpersonal skills, capable of thriving in a multicultural environment.
Disciplined, punctual, resilient, patient, and eager to upskill as required.
Important Details
Internship Conditions: This is an unpaid internship; however, all justifiable expenses incurred during tasks will be reimbursed upon submission of an expense tracker and invoice. This program is designed to complement your studies, with no expectation of employment upon completion. While it's a hybrid program, we prefer Juba-based applicants who can be available both online and in-person. Interns are expected to work independently under minimum supervision.
