Dream journaling

vivid dreams should be journaled and looked back on no matter how confusing they are

I've always had vivid dreams. Almost as if I was actually living them out. Sometimes I feel like I am watching myself in these dreams and it's always so confusing and thrilling.

Ive been thinking about how dreams are created sometimes. I recently had one where I was a soldier in the middle of a war. I'm nowhere near a soldier in real life.

Yet, the dream felt so realistic and terrifying. The strangest part of my dream was the fact that cats were our "honor." Hear me out, I don't even know how I can make this up.

When you've apparently_ fought for three long tiresome years on the field, you're allowed to go home.

Surviving soldiers are lined up and the highest authority figure on the field gives you a speech. This is where the cats come in.

"Soldiers.." They'd start in a grim tone "you've survived. The cats you've met on the journey here are yours," the authority figure gazewould be on everyone who had one. "Cats only stick with the ones they know would protect them. The ones who fight without mercy. You've deserve to go home soldiers. Keep the honor you deserve." Looking around, you can only see a few people lines up compared to when you were dropped off. Even less had kittens in hand or sassy adults who didn't want to be picked up.

The walk- yes WALK- home was on a dingy dirt road. You'd see tired or dead soldiers on the side of the road but you'd have to keep walking. No one is running, panicking, or even shocked. Every single soldier who is walking home- they walk home with charisma and calmness no soldier would guess they'd have after fighting a war.

The only thing I'd hear were the feet of soldiers as they dragged them across the heavy soil and rocks. It was sometimes interrupted by the sound of distant helicopters or other heavy aircraft's. I look up and see enemy warships dropping bombs to clean up the dead solders. Some would drop a few feet in front of you, yet you'd have no energy left to react. I woke up wondering if I'd ever deserve a cat if l ever had to fight.

I couldn't believe I had one following me home but I think it's definitelybecause I bribed them to stay with me. I'd give them some random bird 1 shot down or something. I definitely bribed that cat with extra food or something.

I remember when I came "home."

A random girl was waiting for me. A roommate. I never seen her before or even gave her a proper face but it felt so calming when I opened the doors and saw someone waiting for me.

I remember her lighting up and giving her a hug. It was interrupted when someone came through the door with a tattered uniform and busted lips. "Where's my hug?" The joker said.

It was another roommate of mine but he was her lover. I felt how the happiness and joy overwhelmed me when I saw them embrace. It was something straight out of a movie but I was the one watching two lovers reunite right in front me. All this in a dream?

I walked away to give them space. We were living above a cliff near the ocean. I looked out and heard calmness in a long time. The cat that followed me home came up near my feet

I looked down at him and said “I should really get a lover too huh.”
