Beyond the Digital Facade: Unmasking the Truth About Love and Beauty
The real Beauty

In the era of social media, where digital profiles and online presence reign supreme, it's easy to get caught up in the idea that external beauty is the key to unlocking love and connection. But is this really the case? Or are we just buying into a superficial fantasy?
My own experience during the Corona pandemic in 2020 served as a stark reminder of the dangers of judging people based on their digital appearance. As a university student, I found myself at the receiving end of numerous proposals and declarations of love from people who had never even met me in person. The sole basis of their affection? My profile picture.
At first, it was flattering, even amusing. Boys would claim to be willing to "tod laye chand tare" (bring down the moon and stars) for me, and I would laugh it off as a silly joke. But as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks turned into months, I began to realize that something was amiss.
These declarations of love were not genuine. They were superficial, based solely on my physical appearance. My profile picture had become a magnet, attracting attention from people who didn't even know me.
It was then that I understood the harsh reality of our digital age. We are often judged, liked, and loved based on our external appearance. Our profiles, pictures, and online presence have become the primary means of evaluating our worth.
But what about inner beauty? What about the qualities that truly make us who we are? Do they not count for anything in the digital age?
As I navigated this complex landscape, I came across a poem that resonated deeply with me:
In the digital haze, we search for love,
A fleeting glance, a swipe above.
But true beauty lies, not in the face,
But in the heart, where love takes its place.
So let's look beyond, the surface level,
And find the beauty, that's worth our while to reveal.
For true love is not, in the eyes that see,
But in the heart that feels, and the soul that's free."
This poem served as a powerful reminder that true love and beauty go beyond the digital facade. They are rooted in the heart, in the qualities that make us who we are.
As I reflect on my experience, I am reminded of the importance of looking beyond the surface level. We must seek out meaningful connections that are based on shared values, interests, and personality. We must appreciate the beauty that lies within people, rather than just their external appearance.
For in the end, it's not the external beauty that will bring us true happiness and fulfillment, but the inner beauty that shines from within.
