(Was going back and forth with Colleen Walters in the comments to my piece But Ralf I don’t have anything to write about. When she said

Right! Even a leaf can inspire a poem or story.

And I was like you know what, perfect moment to showcase this. From all that this piece popped forward starting with an immediate inspiring moment. It began simple and then grew into something more. Many edits and drafts later, more than my usual but I always think my work not finished but in transition. I had a lovely bit I came to enjoy.

But I always love myself a good challenge.

So what would you do with the word Leaf? )

The cool Autumn breeze blew precise and with ease as if a hand were guiding, molding and using it. The wind danced and flowed through the trees and through leaves on a path it preceded till it reached one truly beautiful leaf. It was red and it was yellow and it was a fiery orange. Even the brown was deep and profound while the green shown out true and even stood out. The leaf was pushed and it was pulled and it swayed as if it were moving to some unheard epic tune.

Finally the lovely little tapestry popped right out and took off accompanying the mighty wind. This way and that way upside and down it flowed as if water through Forrest all around. One leaf two leaf three leaf four some came off the ground all joining all found. Soon it was joined by the beauty all around.

They rushed over ground and across the waters swirling and twirling while picking up red and yellow and orange and brown. Up they went into the sky ascending ever higher, joining and forming and coming together churning as one. Soon it was hard to tell that they were more than just one.

Together they danced and they twirled and they swirled faster and faster to a music not found. It had been lost to the ages and forgotten as well, yet still it sings, sings all around. The leaves were as one and a form as if human assembles reassembled and became something more. Eyes and a nose, hair as golden as the sun that arose. She was as brown as the leaves eyes as orange as them too. All together as if autumn itself had come to be true. A red cloak of leaves formed at her back, as the ground itself became her protection.

Eyes fluttered as if butterflies and when her mouth opened the winds rushed around her. Her words as if whispers yet booming in force.

Mother oh Mother I shall defend you from those that run around do harm with no remorse. I shall Remove this cursed plague from your life giving form. Heal you and sooth you and bring life back to you. Restore your majesty and restore your honor taking it away from those destroyers and corrupters. Cleansing you of all the vile that they have done. I shall bring you back to when you were one.

The earth shook the winds blew, all around her the leaves danced as if on Cue. The skies crackled as lightning sprang forth cascading across to announce it all and thunder as trumpets marked the event . The rain fell so hard as if to answer the call of cleansing and reparation to all.

She looked up into the sky and felt the rain fall as the water wrapped around her and the colors oh the colors shone brighter and brighter. The smile on her face big with delight, enjoying her mothers sweet embrace.

I see you took the leaf and weaved it's story into a rhyme, into a paragraph and it made it so divine. 🍁So inspiring that you accidentally made me rhyme. I am genuinely trying to type my comment without finding a diamond in your writing. I think that helped. I finally stopped the rhyme, lol. 'All together as if autumn itself had come to be true. ' oh my. I love the adventure building throughout the story. The wonder, the magic of putting the leaves at centre stage. 🍁The bit after 'mother oh mother' wow. I am absolutely loving your writing style. How you took us on a moral run. I like when writers include morals in their writing. Oh the ending was so beautiful. Especially when the rain wrapped around and colours shone brighter because of it. Wow. Outstanding, Ralf 🤗❤️🖤
