And Finally, the Moon Met the Sun
When the Unexpected Happened and Opposites Came Together
Have you imagined the moon sitting beside the sun? Our white deciding to hug the black? Have you heard that the far western world has visited the far eastern world?
I've never known how the dark could hold the hands of the light one day, but that’s what happened to me.
I’ve never realized what "Difference" meant until we met, and I don’t know if it was our destiny to meet!
I can almost swear our paths would never come together, for we are completely different, with nothing tying us together.
I want the far western world, while she believes in the other side. I sing for the color black, while she writes a hateful poem about it. I love the moon, but she draws a sun in her heart.
How can people like this merge? How can fire merge with ice? That was my question. It didn’t make sense to me.
Until, suddenly, the moon decided to meet the sun, darkness hugged the light, and fire sat beside the ice. And just like that, the Western world visited the Eastern world, and I met my friend—this is what happened.
They say that if you love something you can’t explain, you will eventually understand it. I guess now, I understand.
Logic says nothing ties us together, yet love says we have been together for more than eight years. Despite the extreme differences between us, I don’t remember having a serious fight—just small quarrels that ended in the moment.
‘However, the difference wasn’t just between us, but in what we have become after we met.’
What made it even stranger is that one’s existence doesn’t end with the presence of its opposite; instead, our hearts now bring them together. We painted each other with our colors, and now we carry the world’s opposites in a heart that once thought they could never meet.
And, so I say:
I don’t know if the sun can meet the moon one day, or if fire can sit beside ice, or if darkness will ever end its longing by hugging the light. But what I do know is that despite the differences, my friend and I have merged together.
To my dearest friend, Thank you for teaching me love, loyalty, and friendship. Thank you for making an icy mountain feel warmth, for blending strength with kindness, for letting hope seep into despair, and for allowing light to break through the darkness. Thank you because the sun has visited the moon and brightened its darkness.
