"An I get your number?"
...
One year after chatting, suddenly, the boy asked for Risa’s number...

But the person behind the curtain, who had asked Risa for her number with great hope, didn’t know that Risa, the girl with the name, has been unable to speak since birth. And what difference does it make if she gives her number or not, when she can’t even speak?

Meanwhile, the boy’s messages were constantly pinging on Messenger, the sound of “Ding” resonating every time. The same plea repeatedly came from the other side: "Please give me your number." But Risa was helpless. A girl who can't speak, what hope does she have of giving her number? Risa stared at Messenger without any expression, wondering if the boy was writing something. The coded symbols that appeared on Messenger told her that he was indeed typing. She didn’t have a way to respond, nor could she. She logged out of Facebook without saying anything.

The boy, on the other side, kept filling the inbox with message after message. After some time, Risa’s green dot next to her name on Messenger suddenly went off. Then, with disappointment and sorrow, the boy also logged out of Facebook. But the boy still didn’t know that Risa could never speak.

The boy’s name was Abir. He had finished his studies and was now working in a good position at a company. The girl’s name was Risa. She was in her second year of college. They met through a comment on a page's post. Their first interaction had been a fight, but now their relationship had come a long way. The boy had become incredibly weak when it came to Risa. And Risa was in the same position. She had fallen for Abir, but she never expressed her feelings to him. She wondered what good it would do, considering no one would accept a mute girl like her. So, she never told him how she felt.

For the past two days, Risa had not been online on Facebook. Abir couldn’t understand why. The girl who used to check on him every hour hadn’t been online for two days. Abir even wondered if something had happened to Risa. He couldn’t stay calm without talking to her. He started scolding himself repeatedly. What was the need to ask for her number? Before, they used to chat every hour, but now the conversation had stopped. He had sent Risa a lot of messages. Of course, he had because he had fallen in love with her long ago. The only thing left was to tell her he loved her, but now he decided to express his feelings in one last message and logged out of Facebook with a heavy heart.

Meanwhile, Risa was in the same position. She had fallen for Abir too. But what would happen when Abir found out that the girl named Risa couldn’t speak? Risa had thought that it might be better to face the pain now than later. But what could she do? She couldn’t live without Abir, and she knew Abir loved her too. Abir had been trying to show her his love in various ways. And girls always have to pretend that they don’t understand everything. And Abir always ended his messages with a "Love you" emoji. Maybe that was his way of showing love.

After three days, Risa finally logged into Facebook again. She looked at Abir’s profile pictures. Abir was incredibly handsome, mature, and very good-looking. Risa thought to herself that the mute girl named Risa really didn’t match well with a guy like Abir.

Risa went through Abir’s messages one by one. When she reached the last message, she wasn’t disturbed at all. She knew by now that Abir truly loved her, even though she had never said anything. She was now sure of his love. And this was probably how it was meant to be. Seeing Abir’s green light on Messenger, Risa sent him a message:

Risa: How are you?

Abir: I still haven’t got an answer to my question.

Risa: I have something to say to you.

Abir: Answer my question first.

Risa: You need to listen to what I have to say.

Abir: What is it?

Risa: Not here. I want to meet you.

Abir: When and where? He asked happily.

Risa: Tomorrow at 10 AM in front of the Women’s College.

Abir: Okay, but what about my answer?

Risa: You’ll get it there.

Abir: Alright, I’ll be there on time.

That night, Abir couldn’t sleep. He felt anxious. How soon would the night end, and he would finally meet Risa? Even though he had seen her before, tomorrow he would meet her in person, and that thought made him feel excited. The night felt longer than usual for Abir, and he tossed and turned in bed, not realizing when he fell asleep. His sleep was interrupted by the sound of the morning call to prayer.

Abir stood in front of Risa’s college the next morning. The distance between their houses wasn’t much, only about one kilometer. There was only one girls' college in the area, and Abir didn’t have trouble recognizing it. After standing for a while, he saw a girl walking towards him. As she came closer, Abir recognized her — it was Risa. He had seen her on Facebook before. Risa walked up to him and greeted him with "How are you?" But Risa couldn’t answer. Instead, she gestured for him to take a rickshaw.

They sat side by side in the rickshaw, but neither spoke a word. Abir noticed that Risa wasn’t saying anything. He thought to himself, "She looks so beautiful today, but why isn’t she saying anything?"

They sat quietly in a park afterward, and Abir broke the silence, "How are you?" But Risa remained silent. Abir noticed Risa pulling out some pieces of paper from her bag and handing them to him. When Abir saw the first piece, he was surprised. He thought Risa might be teasing him, but he quickly realized she was serious when she handed him another piece of paper that said, "What happened? Why couldn’t you talk to me because I’m mute?"

Abir wasn’t prepared for this. What could he say? He was at a loss for words.

Abir: "I’m fine. How about you?"

Risa: "I’m fine."

Abir remained silent. Then Risa handed him another piece of paper.

Risa: "Now, do you understand why I didn’t give you my number that day?"

Abir: "Yes."

Risa: "I don’t think you’ll be interested in me anymore."

Abir: "I have to go now."

Risa realized that Abir wasn’t interested in her anymore. It hurt her a lot. After all, who would want to marry a mute girl? She told him to go, as she had no strength to hold him back. Abir left, and Risa watched him leave. She stared at him until he disappeared from her sight.

Risa went home alone. After refreshing herself, she logged into Facebook and saw that Abir had blocked her. She couldn’t believe it. Her heart sank. She blamed her fate and wondered why she was sent to this world like this. After looking at their old messages for a while, she deactivated her account, deciding never to log in again.

But the story didn’t end there.

A month later, a marriage proposal came for Risa. She wasn’t home at that time; she was at college. Her parents never imagined that a proposal would come for their daughter. They were overjoyed and busied themselves with the preparations.

When Risa came home, she was surprised to see so many guests. Her uncles, aunts, and relatives were all there. She didn’t feel happy when she heard that they had come to see her. She thought she should be happy, but her heart was with Abir.

After much preparation, Risa was brought in front of everyone. The groom’s family liked her at first sight, and they wanted to get married right away. Risa’s parents were overwhelmed with joy. They never imagined that someone would accept their daughter so easily. Then, Risa was told that the groom was waiting for her on the roof.

Risa went to the roof, and there, she saw a boy staring at the sky. As soon as she placed her hand on his shoulder, the boy turned around. Risa couldn’t believe her eyes. It was Abir. She stared at him in shock. She couldn’t believe he had been waiting for her all this time. After a long moment, she realized it was really him. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at him.

Abir wiped her tears and handed her a piece of paper that said, "How are you?"

Risa: "I’m fine. How about you?"

Abir: "I’m fine. Do you have any objections to marrying me?"

Risa: "But I..."

Before Risa could say more, Abir gently placed his hand over her mouth.

Abir: "Leave everything to me. I’ll take care of the rest. I just want you."

Risa: "Do you really love me?"

Abir: "I’ve loved you all along, that’s why I’m here."

Risa: "Then why did you leave that day?"

Abir: "After that day, I went home and talked to my parents about you. At first, they didn’t agree, but later they understood my happiness and accepted you."

Risa: "But how can I express the things in my heart?"

Abir: "I understand your heart. Just stay with me forever."

Risa: "You won’t hurt me, right?"

Abir: "Never."

Risa: "You’ll love me a lot, right?"

Abir: "My limitless love is only for you."

Risa: "Then I agree to marry you."

Abir: "Say it once more."

Risa: "I love you, I love you, I love you."

With that, Risa hugged Abir, and he embraced her back.

And thus began their new love story.
