Upon the entry and proliferation of cost effective AI technology into the public market, writing related jobs were among the first to get the axe. And, the more this technology is enhanced, the more the herd gets culled! So if you've not already been laid off, the angel of death will most probably come knocking any time now. But, you most likely already know this and you're looking for an exit strategy.

So what comes next for people in jobs like transcription, private tutoring, academic consultation, research assistance, copywriting, content creation, and data entry as well as analysis? That's exactly what I'm going to tell you below.

Video content creation

To begin with, one of the easiest and surest ways to bounce back right now is by venturing into video content creation on YouTube and TikTok. Since the inception of short videos, literally everything in your day to day life can pass for video content. For example, you can create videos of yourself cooking, working, shopping, going on vacation, working out at the gym, having fun at the club, playing games on your PS or Xbox, or handling DIY repairs at home.

If you're a little bit camera shy, you can decide to create your video content as POV. This basically means you record with your camera facing away from you towards the surrounding environment.

Also, if you value your privacy, you have the option of faceless video. In this particular niche, you can use AI to your advantage. You can use this technology to generate fictitious stories in areas like dramatic and suspenseful horror or children narratives. Afterwards, you can apply AI to generate or animate a specific video background and caption your text.

It might take you sometime to blow up, but with some patience, consistency, and knowledge of SEO, you'll eventually get there. And, once you meet the requirements of the platform you're using, in terms of followers and viewers, you can monetize your account and start earning per view.

Creating and selling courses

The second option is creating and selling courses on platforms such as LinkedIn, Coursera, or Udemy. If you're a data analyst, you could create a course teaching people how to use platforms like SPSS or Stata. If you're a copywriter, you can teach people how to do digital marketing. Basically, whatever skill set you possess can be turned into a course, be it programming, graphic design, audio engineering, or photography.

Don't possess a specific skill set? Well, don't worry, there's still a way in for you. People also seek courses on basic life skills such as leadership and management, verbal and written communication, problem solving and conflict resolution, customer relations management, and time management. Earning a certificate in such skills helps to bolster a resumé during job applications.

Learn additional skills

Also, you could try learning additional skills on top of the ones that you currently possess. For instance, if you're a copywriter you could learn graphic designing, photography, programming, and data entry and analysis. If you're wondering why you should do this yet most of these careers might become redundant, I'm headed there next.

Well, in as much as AI has severely affected some of these professions, they're honestly not completely dead. There are still a lot of people that value human generated and authentic content. Thus, businesses have no option but to hire or contract people to meet the needs of the market. With one skill, you might not have a lot of access to such opportunities. But if you possess a couple of them, you can sell them as a freelancer on platforms like LinkedIn, Fiverr, Upwork, People per hour, and task rabbit.

Independent digital publishing

Besides, you can venture into independent digital publishing on platforms like Amazon or Kobo. All you need to do is some keyword research to determine some of the trending topics that generate high book sales. Afterwards, you author a book on one of these topics, and design a book cover if you have some graphic design skills. But, if you don't you can hire someone from Fiverr or Upwork do to it for you. To get higher sales you can use tips and tricks such as offering prices lower than those of the competitors in your niche, giving free promotions on some days, undertaking digital marketing, and doing paid adverts on the platform and other sites such as Google and social media.

Affiliate marketing

Let's not forget about affiliate marketing. You might have heard of this phrase before, but just to make sure we're on the same page, I'm going to explain what it entails. With affiliate marketing, all you have to do is help a certain company sell their products or services to clients and earn a commission from the sales. Most of the companies with websites have at least one form of affiliate marketing regardless of their industry. All you have to do is select your desired company and perform a simple Google search of the brand's affiliate marketing program before registering.

The entry of AI doesn't really mean it's all over for you! You don't have to wring your hands or bawl out your eyes. If this article is any indication, there are still lots of ways for you to earn your keep in the face of recent technologies. All you have to do is get out of your comfort zone, and be ready to start afresh if you have to.
