A Reflection On My Growth As A Writer
My First Blog Piece vs. My Chapter Challenge Piece

We have definitely all grown and changed, both as people and as writers. The two pieces that I have in mind when completing this challange are: my first blog post on my blog, Blue Roses Blog, and my Chapter Challenge submission that I just wrote earlier today. I will also talk about poetry later.
Both of these pieces discuss spiritual growth and development. Although I discuss death and God in my Chapter Challenge submission, my blog post is definitely more spiritual in nature.
I have noticed that my ideas about life, growth, and wisdom are very much the same. We should all try to persevere and think positively. However, the main difference is that I am more willing to make myself vulnerable, and share more personal details about my life. I believe that this will help me to better relate to my audience as a writer. However, it should be considered that the blog post was meant to be a general piece on suffering. My Chapters Challenge was a personal memoir about my middle memoir.
When I wrote this first blog post, I was going through a very spiritual time in my life. Some of the concepts that were discussed need to be read a second or a third time to fully understand them. My Chapter Challenge piece, however, is written is more lamens terms. I also think that both in my poetry and prose in general, my writing has become a little more clear.
When I think of my first poem on Vocal, “Green Eyes”, it had interesting imagery but it did not follow a clear rhyme scheme. Some lines rhymed and some lines didn’t. I did that recently in a poem on Vocal, “Happy Birthday to You”, but I don’t do that as often as I used to. I try to stay consistent with my rhyme scheme.
This is how my work has evolved over time. Thank you.
