A Childhood Reading Obsession

Lost in Narnia

As a child, I was utterly captivated by books, especially the Narnia series. I would curl up in quiet corners, much like that boy beside the majestic lion, utterly lost in worlds where wardrobes led to snow-covered adventures.

My obsession was so intense, I once tried convincing my dog he was a talking beast from Narnia. Spoiler: he was unimpressed.

But just like that peaceful lion in the snow, my imagination roared silently, fuelled by every page I turned. Little did I know, those hours of reading would later make me wish my grown-up life came with a secret passage...

part I loved the best: It would be a tie between the futile attempts to convince your dog of his character or the grown-up wish for a secret passage. One made me giggle and the other made me dream...What a beautiful story of you as a child! And I LOVED the image which was magical and heart-warming, too.

  • A delightful Drabble! I listened in from my bedroom as my Mum read Narnia to my little brothers at bedtime. I & my children love the books and movies.🤩
