90s Mixtapes and My Best Friend
A Drabble About Growing Up With Music and My Dog

This is my entry for Shirley Belk's "I Bet You Were Cute as a Child!?" Challenge.
Nights were spent in my room with my dog by my side.
I loved listening to the radio, recording all my favourite songs onto a mixtape. I enjoyed the anticipation of not knowing what song would come next, then rushing to hit record.
Sometimes I’d miss the beginning, but I absolutely adored those tapes!
I had trouble fitting in at school. I felt awkward, and my friendships were circumstantial, not genuine. But when I came home to my dog, he always made me feel like I belonged.
Some of my favourite childhood memories are of time spent with my boy.

Excellent
part I loved the best: "But when I came home to my dog, he always made me feel like I belonged." Never underestimate the power of a best friend and it's even better when they are dressed in fur :) Loved how this took us to a specific time in history, too! Thank you for allowing us in to your private world!
Love your Drabble & cute photo. We have similar excellent tastes: music & dogs!
