Audi burning oil fast

Oil is highly necessary for engines just like blood for the human body. So, it is very necessary for the oil in proper quantity to remain in the engine. Also, a better quantity of oil is required. This oil remains in the engine for a specific time or for a specific mileage. Then the oil is required a change or you just have to top up oil if there is low oil. The regular oil change is normal which is scheduled by the owners, but what if the oil in your car is consumed excessively? This would obviously make you feel strange. You have to frequently rush for oil change in your car. This becomes very much hard for you and you have to fix this issue. For that you have to know about the root cause of the issue. So here you will know about some possible causes of oil burning fast in your oil.

Oil use in engines

Oil is the main lubricant used in the engines of cars. Engines of different cars use different types of engine oils available because different engines need different types of oils. It is highly essential to have a proper amount of oil for engine as the oil lubricates nearly all the moving parts of the engine. The oil is stores in its tank and then supplied to the engine by the pump. With pressure, the oil reaches every moving parts. When the oil gets coated over a component, then it minimizes the friction on the component. By repeated flow through the engine, oil is consumed by it. It is ok if the oil is consumed in a specific rate. Generally, most of the Audi engines consume one quart of oil in 2000 miles or more but if the consumption becomes 1200 miles per one quart or even less miles, then your engine needs to be checked.

Generally, the high consumption of oil sometimes occurs due to internal leakage of oil. Due to some reasons, the oil enters into the cylinders and gets burned by the firing. In this way the oil is unnecessarily consumed in high quantity by getting burned. As you lose oil, you have to top up new oil in its tank to make the engine lubricated and to avoid any engine damage. This frequent putting of oil into your car would make you spend money unnecessarily.

What causes the Audi to burn oil more?

It is very unusual if you get problems like high oil consumption, high fuel consumption, etc in cars like Audi. Having costly cars like Audi would make you worry more when you have to unnecessary spend money frequently because of some issues. You have to know the cause of the burning high oil in Audi.

Damaged seals

The seals and valves allow the oil to flow properly in its part without leaking. But there are some gaskets which are more likely to make the oil leak when they are damaged, these are the valve cover gasket and the crankshaft seals. When these gaskets get damaged, then do not make the oil to leak under the car but they drip the oil on hot parts of engine where the oil gets vaporized or burned.

Damaged piston rings

The piston rings become worn sometimes and allow the oil to leak into the cylinders through the gap between the piston and the cylinders wall. These piston rings are present around the piston to fill the gap between piston and wall of cylinder.

Faulty PCV valve

The PCV valve allow the oil to lubricate near the cylinders but do not allow the oil to enter into the cylinders. When these valves become faulty, it gets stuck and the oil enters into the combustion chamber instead of fuel.

High oil pressure

If the pressure of the oil is high then it would lead to a very high flow rate of the oil and the chances of the oil to leak to some unwanted hotter places of engine becomes high.

Conclusion

So here you might have understood about some obvious causes of high oil consumption and the importance of fixing the problem. By fixing the high oil consumption problem, you can save your time as well as money.
