Sometime before, during a research project, I came to know about an Arab country, and since then, I have manifested to visit that city. Six months ago, I visited the place I had desired to go to for a very long time. That place was Riyadh, the cultural hub and capital of Saudi Arabia. Cairo is the capital and largest city in Egypt. Riyadh is also the country's capital, but it is much more prominent in its area than Cairo, which made me anxious about visiting it. So as soon as I got a chance to travel, I knew where I wanted to go. Instantly, I book a flight from Cairo to Riyadh. For the first time, I used the Reserval app to make all my bookings, and the process was so effortless. My flight and hotel were booked under one roof in the most cost-effective way possible.

Finally, the day arrived, and I flew from Cairo to Riyadh. I stayed at Voco Riyadh, an IHG hotel, and it was one of the best and most comfortable stays I've ever had. After arriving in Riyadh, I rested for a few hours before exploring the city. At first, I planned to stick to my itinerary, but then I realized, why not just go with the flow and discover everything? So I hopped in an Uber and began exploring the city with Diriyah. Riyadh is known as Saudi Arabia's cultural capital, and I realized this the moment I stepped foot in Diriyah. Diriyah City is an old town in Saudi Arabia known as the birthplace of Saudi Arabia. Looking at the mud architecture of Diriyah, I was awestruck. The next stop I headed towards was definitely the Red Sand Dunes. The red sand desert welcomed me with thrilling adventures. Quad-biking and sandboarding were two of my favorites. The sight of the sun setting in the red sand was absolutely mesmerizing. Indeed, sunsets are gorgeous in deserts.

The first day was jam-packed with history and excitement. Therefore, I decided to spend day 2 exploring some relaxing activities. After having breakfast at my hotel, I went to the National Museum to discover more about the city. As I entered the hallway, I was stunned to see the artifacts from the prehistoric ages. The museum exhibits over 3000 artifacts spread across two floors and eight galleries. The exhibit included breathtakingly beautiful rock carvings, statues, sculptures, scripts, and even a full-scale reconstruction of a Nabataean tomb from Madain Saleh. The museum also contains the Murabba Palace, which houses Riyadh's history. The architecture of the palace is unbelievably beautiful. Without a doubt, one of the best art museums I've ever seen. After getting my historical and artistic fix, I went to the King Fahd Library for some me time. As I arrived at my destination, I was astounded by the architecture of the library. The cuboid shape of the library and the signature filigree facade were an excellent blend of culture and modernity. There were exhibition spaces, a restaurant, and a bookstore in the main entrance hall. For someone who wanted to spend time alone reading books, the perfect white interior provided the most peaceful environment. I spent nearly three to four hours reading a manuscript of Zad al-Ma'ad by Ibn al-Qayyim written in the calligraphy of Suleiman bin Abdullah bin Sheikh Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhab. The library's best feature is that it has restaurants where you can eat whenever you want. When I left the library, it was getting dark, but the library was beautifully illuminated, which was a sight to behold.

It is my last day in Riyadh, so I decided to go shopping. I had always wanted to see Mamlaka Tower because I had a thing for skyscrapers. When I arrived, I was both shaken and overjoyed to see a massive building stretching all the way to the sky. How much I tried, but I was unable to act like a normal human being, so I let myself be a crazy person who had never seen a skyscraper before. I took tons of pictures before getting inside the building. The inside of the tower is as gorgeous as the exterior. I took the quickest lift to the Sky Bridge. From the 99th floor, I saw the panoramic view of the entire city which was absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't believe my eyes at first, but Riyadh is simply stunning. I shopped and shopped at the Malmaka mall till I dropped. After spending three days exploring Riyadh, I’m compelled to say that the elegant yet bold Mamlaka Tower was the highlight of my Cairo to Riyadh trip. I feel sad leaving the stunning city, as I was unable to discover it all, but it still gives me delight to know that I can visit here again to discover what I’ve missed this time.
