How 2023 Acura ILX is an executive car?

The 2023 Acura ILX is a subcompact executive car manufactured by Honda under the Acura brand. The all-new Acura ILX, a compact Premium Sport Sedan that boasts an impressive power-to-weight ratio and offers an attractive driver experience. All ILX variants are based on the ninth generation Honda Civic sedan. Compared to car rivals like the Audi A3, Genesis G70 and Mercedes A-Class, the ILX suffers from outdated technology features, a less than luxurious interior design and disappointing performance. Acura has announced the return of its small sports sedan, the Integra. The Acura is also less expensive than other vehicles in the class.

However, there are compensations for that affordability. The infotainment system is cumbersome, the cabin is dim and the ILX lacks the versatility of its rivals. The Acura ILX feels like a car stuck in time. It looks quite stylish and compatible with other Acura products, but the interior features, power and technology are outdated and do not meet the standards set by the segment executives. The ILX is significantly less expensive than rivals like the BMW Series 2 Gran Coupe and the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.

Interior

Acura ILX 2023 variants come with some bargain materials. The plastic is strong and critics report cracking from several panels. The basic entertainment information system is easy to use, but the screen is small and the interface is quite simple. However, getting the upgraded unit with smartphone integration also gives you a dual screen configuration that is disappointing to use. The menus are complicated, the graphics are outdated and there is a learning curve as to which settings are executed on which screen.

Synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats and eight-way adjustable driver's seat are standard. Available features include genuine leather upholstery and a four-way adjustable front passenger seat. The front seats are supportive and remain comfortable after several hours of driving. However, you will not want to keep adults on your back for long periods of time. Narrow leg space means the row is more suitable for children. There are two complete sets of LATCH connectors for the exterior rear seats and one connecting anchor for the rear rear seats. The Highway Safety Insurance Institute gave the LATCH system in the 2021 ILX very similarly, the second highest acceptable rating for ease of use, noting that the bottom anchors are placed deep in the seat.

Engine

The power of this Acura is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 201 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The engine is suitable for regular driving, and the automatic transmission works smoothly. However, this car is not particularly fast, and unlike some rivals, there are no engine upgrades. This vehicle gains an EPA rated 24 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. These are good grades for the class.

Safety

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave this Acura an overall safety rating of five out of five, with five stars in the side-impact test and four-star in the frontal collision and overturn tests. The Highway Safety Insurance Institute did not rate the ILX 2022. However, it gave the similar ILX 2021 the highest Good rating in the five crash tests performed and the lowest Poor rating for how well the headlights of the his way forward. The IIHS uses a different scale for classifying collision avoidance features and gave this vehicle the highest Superior rating for its standard front collision prevention system. Standard ILX driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear view camera, rear parking sensors, collision warning, lane-keeping assistance, lane departure warning, emergency braking, mitigation starting from the road and signaling cross-traffic after.
