Bajaj Bikes in India
The primary reason for the continued popularity of all Bajaj bikes is that the company is always looking out for upgrades and technological advancements.

Bajaj bikes are synonymous with quality and reliability. At one point in time, Bajaj was the leading producer of two-wheelers (scooters) in India. On entering the motorcycle manufacturing field, they have reasserted their position and have the distinction of being the second largest motorcycle manufacturing company in India and the sixth largest in the world. There are nine Bajaj bikes available in India. The Bajaj bike price range starts with INR 30,713 for Bajaj CT 100 and goes up to INR 1.62 lakhs for the high-end Bajaj Dominar 400. A couple of Bajaj new bikes are expected to hit the Indian roads soon.
Bajaj has always been a reputed manufacturer of scooters and three-wheelers in India. The Bajaj Chetak scooter was an iconic one. It was a status symbol in its halcyon days with almost every house having a Bajaj scooter standing in its porch. Established on 29 November, 1945, Bajaj was initially selling imported scooters and three-wheelers in India. They started manufacturing these vehicles in the year 1959 when they acquired the license to do so.
Initially, Bajaj Auto was slow to take off the blocks as it took them 10 years to roll out their 100,000th vehicle on the Indian roads. The year 1977 was a remarkable year for Bajaj Auto as it marked the first time that they sold 1 lakh vehicles in a single year. Bajaj vehicles and reliability were considered as two sides of the same coin. This quality enabled Bajaj to increase its sales with every passing year.
Bajaj set a new benchmark for success in 1986 as they sold 5 lakh vehicles that year. They raised the bar higher in the year 1995 with the sales of a million vehicles in the year alone. The same year saw Bajaj Auto rolling out its 10 millionth (1 Crore) vehicle. The year 1986 was the time when Bajaj entered the motorcycle manufacturing field. The first Bajaj motorcycle released in India was the Kawasaki Bajaj 2S, a collaboration between Bajaj Auto and Kawasaki of Japan. This partnership ended in 2017 with the deepening of toes between Bajaj and KTM. Bajaj Auto was the first Indian manufacturer to release the 4-stroke bike in India, the Kawasaki Bajaj 4S.
Today, Bajaj Auto manufactures a range of motorcycles that includes Bajaj Avenger, Bajaj Pulsar, Bajaj Discover and so on. This company has been the recipient of various prizes and awards over the years. The Bajaj Avenger 220 and the Bajaj Pulsar won the BBC-Top Gear’s Bike of the Year in 2010. Other than these, Bajaj Auto has earned the distinction of the “Most Customer Responsive Company” in the Automobiles category in the years 2004, 2006 and 2008.
Market Presence
Today, Bajaj holds the distinction of being one of the largest manufacturers of three-wheelers in the world. As far as motorcycles are concerned, it holds the sixth position worldwide and the second position in India. Bajaj Auto has its headquarters in Pune with its various plants situated in Chakan (Pune), Waluj (Aurangabad) and Pantnagar, Uttarakhand.
Initially known as a scooter manufacturer, Bajaj Auto has graduated to become a leading motorcycle manufacturer in India. Once, it used to import scooters from abroad and sell them in India. Today, it has become one of the prominent exporters of two-wheelers in the world. About 35% of its sales comprise exports, with Africa being the biggest beneficiary with 47% of its exports.
The Bajaj latest bikes come in various colours with the Bajaj V and the Bajaj Pulsar 160NS standing out for their sleek appearance. A look at the Bajaj bike photos will confirm that they can still make heads turn. We shall also look at the Bajaj bike models new images as well.
“Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul.” This is what makes motorcycles so special. India has seen a prominent demand for such machines from a very long time. The first-ever bike to reach our shores was the Royal Enfield Bullet 350. From then onwards, there are many companies that have made their presence felt. One such is the Bajaj Auto. And one of the most famous bikes from the company is the Bajaj Pulsar. The bike known as the fastest Indian has been for around 19 years. Let’s take a look at where it all started.
2001 – Where it all started
Hero Honda had a strong presence in the Indian market at that time. To make the things more inclined towards it, the company launched an entry-level 150cc bike, the CBZ. It became an instant hit. Bajaj being a competitor in the market had to bring its a-game into the arena. This is where the Bajaj Pulsar comes in.
The popularity of the bike is credited to the meanest machine Indian market had at that time in this 150cc segment. The bike had it all, a powerful engine which was capable of producing 13hp of power, front disc brakes (first time in the Indian motorcycles), side stand indicator, tachometer, a longer wheelbase and much more. And to add to the list, 1500 Pulsars were ordered by the Indian army, enough to prove the temperament of the Pulsar 150.
Along with the 150, Bajaj also launched a more powerful 180cc Pulsar. This engine could produce 15hp of power. The 180 had an electric starter as a standard. Both the engines came mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The triumph on the Indian roads had begun.
