When I started to organise tours in Nepal

My dream of travelling goes way back to my childhood when my father used to take me around every weekend. As I grew up I found that travelling makes me the happiest version of myself. And thankfully, I was in this beautiful country of Nepal where I could travel all around the country and explore the beautiful mountains at a very low prize. During my higher education, I spent more time in travelling than I spend time in reading. And, after I completed my education, I just knew that I have to do something in the field of travelling in Nepal. That is when I came up with the idea of opening my own trekking agency in Nepal.

Well, just an idea in a raw mind and I knew nothing about opening a tracking agency. I just knew that I have to do something that relates my passion of travelling as my occupation. As a first procedure, I picked out the name and made some brand logos and photos before I applied for the permit. After a lot of government work and permits, I was finally able to set up my travel agency. And as I was going low in the budget, I made a small office in my own home instead of some tourist attraction. This means there was no way that a random tourist would have found my office by themselves physically.

Thankfully, this is a world of internet and I too decided to use the power of social media to boost my account. I started by hiring few Instagram influencer and Tiktokers so that I can get the initial boost my account. Then, I did travel to some places by myself and captured every thing about the tour. From blogging daily life to posting pictures and creating challenges/ tasks, it was a lot of social media marketing. I also invested money in Facebook advertisements and Instagram advertisements. And almost 6 months after may hard work and investment in the social media, I was finally able to get my first booking for the Everest base camp helicopter tour . Since this was my first year, I had to learn a lot about managing the helicopter, the guide, the pilots, and every thing. But once we flew to the Everest, the team was really happy to work with my company Himalaya Masters.

After the first booking, we kind of started to attract more visitors. That when a we got a couple of more treks around Manaslu Circuit and this trekking trial was really loved by the tourist. This is when we started to be take specialised tours to Manaslu. This is a story from October last year. After few trek bookings from September and November the winter started in Nepal. This means lower temperature and new trek bookings. Then, I invested another three months of winter in social media and this time I also build an website where I wrote a lot of article and worked on the search engine optimisation. After three months, the website was looking pretty good and we were ready to welcome other bookings for the season. Unfortunately as I invested less time in social media, the booking for this season was really less. Then again started posting on Facebook and Instagram to get around five bookings for the spring of 2023. And that was that.

It was so fun to organise all those tricks and receive amazing feedback from the travellers. From monsoon, we could hired a small team of guide/ porter and also got an office in Thamel. Now we have started to receive good number of bookings and enquiries for the next trek season in Nepal.
