If you’re looking to take a relaxing, overseas trip, you may want to consider visiting Bali. Its scenery is beautiful and tends to have gorgeous weather year-round. There are a few things you should consider and do before you go though. Here are some of the most important ones.

Decide What To Pack

You shouldn’t go on your trip without properly packing for it. Look at what time of year you are going to get a better idea of what kind of clothes you should bring. Be mindful of how long you are going for though and try not to overpack. You don’t want to find yourself weighed down with things you don’t need. Shoes are one of the most important things you’ll need to bring, so make sure you pack ones that are comfortable and durable.

Determine How You'll Travel

Although you know you’re going to Bali, you should try to book your travel arrangements well ahead of time. You can save a lot of money on your flights if you purchase the tickets well in advance. You’ll also need to think about how you are getting to the airport and how you plan to get around once you are there. Taking care of these things before you arrive and can help eliminate unnecessary stress.

Collect Your Paperwork

You’ll need to make sure all of your paperwork and documents are ready for traveling to a new country. Passports will be required, so look to see if everything is in order with yours. You won’t be able to go if it's expired or lost. You may also need to check your healthcare records management to see if there are any medical notes you should be aware of when traveling to Bali. Certain illnesses or concerns may surround the country, and it’s good to stay informed of those things.

Make an Itinerary

Once you have decided you are going to Bali, you should begin planning your days that you will be there. Determine what you want to do and create an itinerary for when and how you will do it. While you don’t have to schedule things down to the very minute, it’s wise to plan your days so that you won’t waste time wondering what you should go do. Some places may even require you to book their activities ahead of time, so make sure you are aware of those instructions when looking for things to do.

Watch Your Finances

Before you leave for your trip, make a budget, and determine to stick to it. You could find yourself in a lot of financial trouble if you aren’t aware of how much you are spending. You’ll need to think about things like food, souvenirs, activities, housing, and traveling. You’ll also need to look up currency exchange and the rates that go with it. Although several tourist locations will take American money, you should always have the nation’s money on hand as well.

Set-up Your Phones

One of the important, but often forgotten things to take care of when traveling out of the country is taking care of your phone service. You’ll need to call your operator to see what the procedures are for using it in a foreign country. They’ll give you special instructions and tell you what the costs will be. One of the more popular ways to have use of your phone, but not have to pay overseas fees, is to connect your phone to a Wi-Fi source. There are several applications you can use that will allow you to message and call other people using the internet, instead of cell service. You’ll need to decide which option you will do before leaving for your trip.

Study the Culture

While it’s not necessary, but very wise to do, take some time before you leave to learn about the Bali culture and see how things work. This will help you understand the island and allow you to enjoy it more. You can learn about their different customs and get a better idea of how you should act once there.

Taking a trip to Bali should be fun and exciting. These are just a few tips to help you make the most out of your adventure.
