If you haven’t traveled much and want to go somewhere exciting, don’t worry, there are plenty of places you can visit that are highly rated and often frequented by tourists all over the world. Here are some suggestions on the top 10 places to visit before you die.

1) Machu Picchu, Peru

Machu Picchu is a pre-Columbian Incan citadel set high in the Andes mountains. It was built around 1450 AD, and it's believed that it served as an estate for the Incan emperor Pachacuti. If you can't make it to Machu Picchu, at least have a look at these pictures!

2) The Great Wall of China

In the East, The Great Wall is a great place to visit. It's a huge wall that was built in ancient times. The wall is over 13,000 miles long and it's the only man-made object on earth that can be seen from space! In South America, Machu Picchu is a must see. It's an Inca city that many believe was once an observatory.

And Africa has the pyramids at Giza which were one of the 7 wonders of the world until they were destroyed by invaders.

3) Petra, Jordan

Petra is one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. It's a city carved out of sandstone cliffs and filled with towering architecture that dates back 2,000 years. There are tombs and temples as well as plazas and colonnaded streets. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must-see for anyone with an interest in ancient history or archaeology, but there are also incredible natural wonders like the Wadi Musa gorge or the Rose City Canyon just outside town.

4) The Taj Mahal, India

You must visit the Taj Mahal in India. This is one of the top 10 places to visit in the world. It's a white marble mausoleum that was built by Shah Jahan as a memorial for his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal took 22 years to build and has become one of the most recognizable structures in the world.

5) Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Angkor Wat is one of the top 10 places to visit in the world. There are some other sites that are worth visiting like the Temples of Banteay Srei and Bayon, but Angkor Wat is a must-see. The temple was built between 1113 and 1150 AD and was once used as a Hindu Temple, but then converted into a Buddhist temple in the 14th century. It is an architectural masterpiece that showcases Khmer architecture at its finest.

6) Chichen Itza, Mexico

Chichen Itza is a Maya archaeological site in Mexico that was built around the 5th century. It's famous for its El Castillo and the Temple of Kukulcan, which are considered sacred by the Maya people. This place is really special because it contains many examples of Pre-Columbian architecture. Chichen Itza is said to have been a major city during the Maya Classic Era and even became one of their most important ceremonial centers.

7) The Colosseum, Italy

Built in the early 2nd century AD, the Colosseum is one of Rome's most well-known attractions. This impressive ruin was originally used for entertaining the masses with gladiatorial battles and animal hunts. In its prime, the Colosseum could hold 50,000 spectators and featured a retractable roof that would cover the arena during rainy weather. Today, visitors can explore this unique structure on foot or take a guided tour to learn more about what it once looked like in all its glory.

8) Stonehenge, England

Stonehenge is a stone circle in Wiltshire, England. It's about 2 miles (3 km) west of Amesbury and 8 miles (13 km) north-west of Salisbury. Stonehenge was built during the Neolithic period, which started around 4000 BC and ended around 2000 BC. The purpose of Stonehenge is not known but it may have been used as an astronomical observatory or a religious site. There are also theories that it was used as a burial ground or meeting place but it is not certain why the stones were put in place.

Stonehenge is made up of over 150 large upright stones (known as sarsens), which form four circles with a small opening at the center.

9) Easter Island, Chile

Easter Island is a Polynesian island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, famous for its monumental statues called moai. It is one of the most remote inhabited islands on Earth, lying 2,300 kilometers (1,400 miles) from the nearest inhabited island. The first Polynesian settlers reached Easter Island around AD 1200 and there have been numerous waves of migration to and from the island ever since then. Researchers are still working on piecing together how this isolated society developed over the centuries before European contact.

Easter Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a diverse range of natural and cultural sites that can't be found anywhere else on earth.

10) The Pyramids of Giza, Egypt

Giza's iconic pyramids are said to be one of the greatest man-made wonders on earth. Built by the ancient Egyptians, they are some of the oldest and most recognizable structures in the world. The most famous of these is the Great Pyramid of Giza, or Khufu's Pyramid. It is believed that it took 20 years to build this amazing structure and it remains the tallest man-made structure in existence today.

Located south of Cairo, Giza is a must-see for any traveler who loves history and archaeology.
