The City of Atlanta

An amazing place to visit, these are my top 4 places to go when I visit Atlanta.

By Makayla ImesPublished 7 years ago 3 min read

I've been raised in Georgia all my life, so going to ATL is very common in my life.

Atlanta is a city that has a lot of good spots, expensive and cheap, great street art, and places to go with family. It's got everything you need for a great vacation area, and I'm here to list off a few places that are family friendly and that I've had great experiences at.

1. The Georgia Aquarium

Downtown Atlanta has a lot of interesting and family friendly spots to go to, and this is definitely a great place to take kids. I've been there a million times, when I was younger up to now, with my younger cousins and with friends. It's an amazing place to go to, they have so many different sections to visit and look at the ocean and river life. They have everything ranging from tropical fishes to whales, and it's amazing to see. They always seem to have a new attraction every once in a while, and each attraction is always amazing. So, if you have young kids or teenagers, it's always a fun experience. I recommend checking it out.

2. World of Coca-Cola

It's right next to the Georgia aquarium, and is what you expect in a place built on Coca-Cola products. It's a cool experience, you should do at least once it your life. You can taste different products from around the world, so you can experience tasting drinks other people drink. They have all different stuff on coca-cola, like a mini museum, and cool coke bottles, and it's a great thing to do with kids who like trying new things because there's a lot of drinks to try.

3. The Atlanta Zoo

This place is amazing, and has all sorts of animals to see, and hear facts about. Now, the downside to this place, it's a little tricky to find sometimes, so warning. But this place is amazing, I loved all the animals there, and it was fun learning about them. This place is educational and fun, so kids will be entertained for a while, teenagers will like all the photo opts. It’s a cool place to go to, make a day out of it, it’s a big park, so there’s walking, but it’s shady so you won’t get hot. Amazing gift shop, cool animals, educational, and a great place to go with the family.

4. The Historic Oakland Cemetery

Okay, so maybe not all families will like this place, but my family and I loved it. It has sections of different times to see the graves, and if you’re a photographer or a videographer, it’s great for pictures and videos. It’s really an amazing place, and you can look at the graves, and mausoleums, and it’s absolutely beautiful. I loved exploring the different sections and taking beautiful pictures. It’s more south atlanta but it’s worth the drive since it really is beautiful, you can roam around, looking at the last resting places of people. And you might even catch a ghost, if you’re lucky.

Those are definitely my top four places in Atlanta to go, minus all the parks and malls. Atlanta is a cool place to go and visit, and there’s a lot of family oriented places to go, they might not be on this top 4, because I can only talk about what I’ve been to multiple times.

If you’re ever in Atlanta, go check out some of these places, because they really are worth the money, Oakland Cemetery is free and I'm not sure of the other prices now or whenever you read this. They’re all really amazing places to go to, at least once in your life.
