The Best Travel Camper Trailers of 2022

Travel Camper

By lzzi smithPublished 3 years ago 5 min read

Camper trailers make it easier to keep extra comfortable and have a good night's sleep while travelling for a long period. Over time, travelling in a camper trailer may be less expensive than booking a hotel room and eating out frequently.

We can go through and settle in closer to nature in well-built trailers, away from daily distractions. We can travel even further off the grid and stay there longer with setups that use water tanks, batteries, and gas.

Taxa Outdoors Tiger Moth Camper Trailer

When the destinations you explore are among the hardest to get to, hauling a camper trailer with conventional amenities requires a balancing act. Fortunately for adventurous travellers, Taxa Outdoors' TigerMoth Overland ($24,950) is a comfortable, useful, and haul-anywhere trailer that isn't bulky, heavy, or difficult to drive.

The fact that the sleeping area may be used as a dining area, workplace, or gathering place is one of our favourite aspects. When you're seated at the kitchen table, the swing-up side door opens the room up and widens it while offering weather protection.

Winnebago Micro Minnie 2306BHS

When travelling with family or friends, this Micro Minnie model ($29,977) is a luxurious option to pull behind an SUV or half-ton truck. The design features windows for cross-ventilation as well as an easily operated Murphy bed with a conventional queen-size mattress.

With the bed directly above, the pass-through storage below features an insulated door that is crucial. A push-down table in the diner can be used to create an additional bed.

A microwave, refrigerator, and three-burner cooktop are all included in the kitchen. A cutting board that rests flush with the counter can be used to finish off the deep barn sink. For larger goods like motorcycles, there is additional storage provided by a second flip-up bunk bed. Additionally, the bathroom has a spacious shower and a tonne of linen storage.

Colorado Teardrops Canyonland

Crossover and SUV drivers frequently choose the $14,800 Colorado Teardrops Canyonland trailer. The cabin and galley are made of maple wood, which produces a soft light, and a steel plate with a powder-coated finish protects the trailer underneath. For longer road journeys than a week, the queen-sized bed's platform may be transformed into a table and bench.

For bedding or other slim items, the organised under-floor storage is ideal. We used the overhead skylight to test the teardrop and enjoyed the starry night sky. When needed, the screened windows and electric fan provided excellent air circulation.

Vorsheer XOC Extreme Overland Camper

We greatly value the Vorsheer XOC Extreme Overland Camper's Timbren axle-free independent suspension, 1.9-foot ground clearance, off-road tyres, articulating hitch, and $53,696 price tag. There is a heavy-duty D-ring in case you get stuck so you can use a winch to pull the trailer out.

The frame has extra gussets that provide torque resistance for extreme off-road travel as well as additional weld strength. Pass-through storage, a utility box, a power box with two batteries, a power transfer case, and a prewired 140-watt solar panel are all included in the exterior compartment. A water heater and an outdoor shower are also present.

A pantry, drawers, a two-burner stove, a deep sink, and cupboards are included at the cook station. A slide-out refrigerator with a separate freezer section is also available. The back of the spare tyre has a pop-down work table, and the bike rack attachment is not in the way of using the galley.

Off Grid Trailers Expedition 2.0

This off-road trailer ($29,500) is cosy, useful, and strong for boondocking in challenging terrain. After a strenuous day outside, the high-density queen-sized memory foam mattress is appreciated.

The external storage bins have locking compression latches that keep out dust and are powder-coated for durability. The 31-gallon water tank has a large capacity. 13 cubic feet of storage are located in the back cabinet in addition to 23 cubic feet of interior space.

We value the pull-out 55L refrigerator and freezer. A clever, streamlined design features a deep sink and a drop-down dual-burner stove. A cover over the sink allows it to be used as a prep counter.

Black Series HQ19

One of the few tow-behind trailers we've examined that can withstand off-road excursions and has a tonne of storage room is the Black Series HQ19 ($63,995). We adored the suspension and the poly block hitch's 360-degree articulation.

Overall, the construction is opulently cosy. It has a queen-size bed and enough space for storing things like skis, ski boots, a battery generator, packs, camp chairs, and bicycle pumps.

The oven, washing machine, refrigerator, freezer, outdoor kitchen, dinette, huge windows, powerful solar system, full-size stall shower, and hot water made our cross-country trip comfortable. Visit our review of the Black Series HQ19 in its entirety.

Forest River Explore R-Pod RP-193

For family vacations, the travel trailer ($37,433) is a terrific choice. The queen-size Murphy bed is simple to transform into two twin bunk beds as well as a day lounger. There is room for five people on another sofa.

A sizable pantry, a two-burner stove, and a deep sink with a cover are included in the indoor kitchen. To assist keep odours outside, there is also an outside griddle. Overall, the layout of the trailer is ideal for obtaining a good night's sleep, unwinding after a day outside, or sheltering from inclement weather.

Timberleaf Classic Off-Road Teardrop Trailer

We're lured to the offroad package with the Timbren Axleless suspension and 4-inch lift for a 1.5-foot clearance in this Timberleaf Classic Teardrop Trailer ($25,900), which will enable us to reach far-off trailheads. All-terrain tyres, an articulating hitch, and jeep-style fenders with corner steps are further features of the arrangement.

The design is superb in terms of appearance. Both the inside storage cubbies surrounding the queen-size bed and the outdoor cooking galley exhibit exquisite carpentry. Couples or lone travellers will love this option.

nüCamp RV Tab S Teardrop Camper

Weekend excursions or longer road journeys are suited for its traditional teardrop shape. The nüCamp RV Tab S Teardrop camper ($23,998) has a dinette that can be converted into a comfortable sleeping area that may be used as a split or full bed, a galley kitchen, and a wet bathroom.

This camper is well-built throughout, from the windows to the appliances and cabinetry, and it's quite simple to tow behind a compact crossover, medium-sized SUV, or pickup truck. The easy-to-clean floor and off-road tyres were also appreciated.

Airstream Flying Cloud 23FB

We put this trailer to the test on a turkey hunting trip and discovered it was the perfect size for two travelling companions. There is an indoor shower, bathroom, kitchen, and dining table in The Flying Cloud ($85,300). From the light switches to the door latches, every part of this Airstream seemed solid.

The stereo was good, and the digital heater and thermostat were both incredibly responsive. The structure also controlled temperature changes, keeping us warm at night and cool during the heat of the day.
