The creations of Walt Disney and the Disney Company

Disneyland, a recreation demesne in Anaheim, California, features characters, lifts, and shows grounded on the creations of Walt Disney and the Disney Company. Though its central structure, the Sleeping Beauty Castle, is modeled on Germany’s Neuschwanstein Castle, it's an unmistakable icon of American popular culture. Disneyland is the only Disney theme demesne designed and erected under the supervision of Walt Disney.
By as early as the 1940s, Disney had begun planning themed gests to round his Burbank film plant a backlot stint that would include a train lift through a “ vill” set and a recreation demesne that would feed to his workers and their children. By 1952 he'd formed WED Enterprises, a commercial reality created to plan and make the recreation demesne on plant grounds. Ultimately, he chose a plot of land in pastoral Anaheim, close to Los Angeles, for the demesne rather, largely as a result of the hostility of Burbank megacity officers toward the plant design. This much larger plot allowed Disney to reconceptualize his demesne into the public “ giant movie set” that would come From Disneyland.
Backing the bid proved delicate, but Disney was suitable to secure a significant portion of the backing from the American Broadcasting Company (ABC); ABC entered in return the rights to produce a daily Disney TV program and a share of the demesne’s gains. Construction began on July 21, 1954, and was completed on July 17, 1955.
Disney’s disposition toward nostalgic sentiment and fantasy is apparent in the demesne’s design and construction. The themed areas firstly opened in Disneyland were Main Street, U.S.A., eliciting a Midwestern American city at the turn of the 20th century and modeled on Disney’s birthplace of Marceline, Missouri; Fantasyland, grounded incompletely on stories from Disney animated features; Adventureland, a jungle-themed area; Frontierland, featuring the Mark Twain Riverboat; and Tomorrowland, an auspicious vision of the future. Posterior additions were New Orleans Square, grounded on the southernU.S. megacity of New Orleans; Bear Country, latterly renamed Critter Country, featuring the Country Bear Jamboree and the Splash Mountain lift; and Mickey’s Toontown, a various world modeled on cartoon vitality. A short-lived Holidayland was from 1957 to 1961. The Anaheim property also holds a family demesne, Disney’s California Adventure, which opened in 2001; a separate shopping, dining, and entertainment area called Town Disney District; and three hospices.
Disneyland came as a mecca for excursionists from around the world. By the turn of the 21st century, further than 14 million people visited the demesne annually.
