Kasol-Kheerganga trek turned out to be a magical experience.

I had always wanted to explore the Parvati Valley, and the Kasol-Kheerganga trek turned out to be a magical experience. From the hippie vibes of Kasol to the natural hot springs of Kheerganga, every part of this journey was breathtaking. The scenic trails, camping under the stars, and the peaceful energy of the mountains made this trek truly special.
Best Time to Visit Kasol-Kheerganga for an Amazing Experience
I did this trek in October, and the weather was absolutely perfect! The best time to visit depends on what you’re looking for:
March to June: Pleasant weather, lush greenery, and comfortable trekking conditions.
September to November: Crisp air, clear skies, and stunning autumn colors.
December to February: Snow-covered trails for those who love winter adventures.
Getting to Kasol – The Start of My Adventure
My journey began with an overnight bus ride from Delhi to Bhuntar, followed by a short drive to Kasol. Kasol’s bohemian charm, cozy cafés, and river views immediately made me fall in love with the place. Before starting my trek, I enjoyed a relaxed evening exploring Kasol’s local markets and cafes.
My 2-Day Trekking and Camping Experience
Here’s how my adventure unfolded:
Day 1: Kasol to Kheerganga – A Trek Through Paradise
The trek started from Barshaini, a small village near Kasol.
The 12 km trail took me through thick pine forests, scenic waterfalls, and wooden bridges.
Along the way, I stopped at Rudra Nag waterfall, a stunning natural wonder.
The last stretch was steep but rewarding, as I finally reached Kheerganga’s famous hot springs.
After a refreshing dip in the natural hot water, I set up my camp and enjoyed a night under the stars.
Day 2: Sunrise at Kheerganga and Descent Back to Kasol
Waking up to a golden sunrise over the Himalayas was a surreal experience.
I spent my morning meditating and soaking in the last moments of Kheerganga’s serenity.
The descent back to Barshaini was easier, allowing me to enjoy the beauty of the trail even more.
I ended my journey by returning to Kasol, where I relaxed at a riverside café before heading back home.
Packing Essentials for Kasol-Kheerganga Trek
Packing smartly made my trek much more comfortable. Here’s what I carried:
Clothing: Light trekking clothes for the day and warm layers for the cold nights.
Shoes: Sturdy trekking shoes with good grip.
Accessories: Trekking pole, sunglasses, flashlight, and power bank.
Essentials: Water bottle, dry snacks, first aid kit, and sunscreen.
Camping gear: Sleeping bag and an extra blanket for chilly nights.
Trek Difficulty and Fitness Tips
The Kasol-Kheerganga trek is moderately easy, making it ideal for beginners. However, the final stretch to Kheerganga is steep. To prepare, I did some light cardio and leg exercises a few weeks before the trek. Staying hydrated and pacing myself helped me complete the trek without exhaustion.
Final Thoughts – Why This Trek Was Pure Bliss
The Kasol-Kheerganga trek was not just about hiking—it was an experience of nature, adventure, and self-discovery. From the hippie vibes of Kasol to the mystical energy of Kheerganga, every moment was special.
