That sounds like an exciting hands-on experience! The X5 360 camera from Insta360 has a lot of new features that make it a strong competitor in the 360-degree camera market. Some of the most important enhancements and features you might have found impressive are as follows:

1. Enhanced Video and Image Quality 1/1.3" Sensor: This sensor is bigger than the X3, so it performs better in low light and has a wider dynamic range. 5.7K 360 Video @ 30fps / 4K Single-Lens Mode – Sharper, more detailed footage with improved stabilization.

Active HDR helps to balance scenes with a lot of contrast for results that look more natural.

2. Improved Stabilization (FlowState 2.0)

Even smoother footage thanks to advanced algorithms, making it great for action shots, walking vlogs, or biking.

3. Interchangeable Lenses (New for Insta360 X Series!)

For exceptionally high-quality 360° shots, the Leica 1-inch sensor mod (sold separately) is one of the interchangeable lenses supported by the X5.

4. Improved Mic and Audio Input 4-mic array with noise reduction built in. Support for 3.5mm external microphones is a significant upgrade for creators who require pro-level audio.

5. Editing Powered by AI (Insta360 App) Auto Frame and AI Tracking – Smoothly follows subjects and automatically highlights the best angles. Deep Track 2.0 – More accurate subject tracking for dynamic shots.

6. Strong and easy to use design With a dive case (sold separately), it is waterproof up to 10 meters. Touchscreen Interface: Compared to previous models, navigation is simpler.

7. Connectivity and workflow acceleration Wi-Fi and USB-C transfers speed up file offloading. Live Streaming: Live streaming in 1080p and 360° is supported. Verdict?

The Insta360 X5 appears to be a significant advancement, particularly for creators who desire higher-quality 360° footage, improved stabilization, and increased adaptability thanks to interchangeable lenses. This could be a game-changer if you enjoy VR content, travel vlogging, or action shots. Would you recommend it over competitors like the GoPro Max or Ricoh Theta X? During the testing, what was your favorite feature?

The new X5 can capture 4K footage up to 120fps, up from 100fps on the X4. And like the earlier model, it can film in 8K up to 30 frames per second, or in 5.7K up to 60 frames per second.

The new, larger sensor and improved image processing are always responsible for the greatest improvement in image quality. Image quality improves as a result of these two factors. It is exceptionally good. The colors appear more vibrant and the footage appears to be sharper. The significant difference between the two cameras surprised me. All of those extra details come very handy in post-production. The footage can be stretched out, extended, and manipulated more before the quality gets worse. When using the X4, I often found that the sky would have this dark blob over it. That issue is almost gone with the X5.

The appearance of the X5's microphone housing has changed. There is now a windscreen built into the device instead of a microphone hole. The goal is to get more clarity from your videos while eliminating wind sounds. During my tests while skiing down a mountain, it performed well. When these cameras are used on motorcycles, users will be delighted to hear more engine sounds rather than wind noise. As I mentioned earlier, I primarily use these cameras for action sports or specific 360-degree shots. However, every now and then, I try to use it for something else and am dissatisfied. I brought the X4 to CES this year, for example, and used it to film the show floor. My clips were jittery because stabilization was unable to keep up with the amount of noise in the footage. With a new mode called Purevideo, Insta360 is attempting to address this issue. It’s the same mode that was introduced in their Ace Pro cameras.

It intensifies post-processing. Low-light footage looks cleaner with less noise and punchier color and contrast. I’ve tried it in many different scenarios, and each time it performed better than the normal video mode. It's an improvement over the X4 and gives this camera more options. Finally, the X5 is able to film in LOG. People who want more control over coloring footage in post editing will be very excited about that. However, it only works in Active HDR for some reason. The good news is that it can now film in 5.7K at 60 frames per second, as opposed to 30 frames per second, as was the case with the X3 and X4. This is great news for HDR users.
