Who are you...Whoo whoo' Whooooooooo are you Ooo ooo.....

Getting on the bus that morning I had no clue what was going to happen. I did feel the gratitude of being one of the selected to go on the School camping trip. it was a week long, so we got to get out the classroom and into the mountains. As we drove further into the mountain scape I see the city fall behind and pretty much go away. As we ride deep into the mountains, we get to the Camp ground. The bus comes to a halt' and we depart, get sorted into an Orientation hall for a Campers Meeting. The questions and answers of all to what where and why we are all here at the camp site for the School district.

Next day we gather near a bird cage 'like the one you would see at a zoo. Huge with a Big Brown Eagle. As we are introduced to the functions of the camp and the ways it contributes also to the echo system in the area. The Camp grounds animal care giver pulls out of a box a huge rat' by the tail as she explains, "You want to grab the tail so if the rat wants to bite you, just give a good swing and knock it out!" as she hurls the rat to the cement. the rat stops moving and she throws it at the eagle in the cage, as the rat comes to and starts to run around the cage. The counselor explains it is a sanctuary for wound wild life and the rehabilitate the animals rescued. The recovering brown eagle Spots the rat and pounces on it piercing it with it's talon, and begins to rip it's prey apart.

That night at the Campfire the campers gather after an eventful day of learning and working with the grounds-personal who maintain the wild life sanctuary. As we sing and talk about the day. One of the counselors brings out the Gorgeous Very white and the first time I seen in person a SNOW OWL' was right there in his hand. The owl was in a barn near the area and was brought to the wild life sanctuary, and been healing for several weeks. Our camp group happened to be there on the week it was to be set free. As I look at the Bright colored Snowy looking owl, I could feel it pierce me with a hard look. I was sitting there, starring at him as he was starring at me. I was listening to the man who had the owl on his arm, at the end of his words, he gave a a Swish with the Snow Owl swinging his arm. And just like that the Owl spread his wings, showing his thanks to the man for taking great care. And with a Screech and and leap in choreographed motion the Snow Owl flies off into the night. As it disappears, The owl Swings back around for one more pass as He says to the man and the campers... Thank you.

The Snow Owl I met on my school camping trip... and that was just the first day of the trip the story got better and the experience was worth the trip.

This really happened Once upon a time ago....
