The Hall of Fame is not just any museum—it is a moving tribute dedicated to the Indian soldiers who served and sacrificed their lives defending Ladakh. Route: Located on the Leh-Kargil Road (NH1).

Timings and Entry

Opening Hours: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The entry fee is INR 25 per person

War Memorial Hall:

This section is filled with powerful displays from the Kargil War (1999), including weapons, photographs, and personal belongings of soldiers. Letters and citations give a human face to the conflict.

Siachen Glacier Section:

Discover what life is like on the world’s highest battlefield. You will see survival gears, clothing as well as supplies used by troops braving temperatures of -50°C.

Ladakh Cultural Gallery:

Bike Trip Itinerary: Manali to Leh

Day 1: Manali to Jispa

Distance - 93 km

Route: Manali – Rohtang Pass – Keylong – Jispa

Highlights: Rohtang Pass, Chandra River, calm riverside camps at Jispa.

Day 2: Jispa to Sarchu

Distance - 83 km

Jispa – Darcha – Baralacha La – Sarchu

Highlights: Baralacha La Pass 4,890 m and it is often covered with snow. Whereas Sarchu has great high-altitude plains.

Manali to Leh bike

Day 3: Sarchu to Leh

Distance - 251 km

Route: Sarchu – Gata Loops – Nakee La – Lachung La – Pang – More Plains – Tanglang La – Leh

Highlights: Gata Loops (21 high ascending hairpin bends climbing to 1,500 feet), Tanglang La (5,328 m), one of the world's highest motorable passes, and the amazing and surreal More Plains, which has some of the best riding you could ever imagine.

Day 4: Rest and Acclimatization in Leh

Explore Leh Market.

Visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace.

Day 5: Leh Local Sightseeing – Hall of Fame

Route: Local ride around Leh town.

Highlights - Hall of Fame Museum, Magnetic Hill. Pathar Sahib Gurudwara.

Day 6 Onwards: Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, and Beyond

Extend your adventure to Khardung La, Nubra, Tso Moriri, or Pangong Lake. Each route offers its own unique landscapes and challenges.

Practical Tips for Visiting

  • Dress modestly, this is a place of tribute.
  • Plan your visit early in the day to avoid crowds.
  • Carry a bottle of water—Leh’s dry air can dehydrate you quickly.
  • Spend at least 1–2 hours to explore all sections properly.
  • Take time to sit and relax. Also, small rests are sometimes important while on a Motorcycle tour.
  • While travelling from Jispa to Sarchu, it can be very windy and cold. Good sleeping bags are a must.
  • Keep snacks and water handy while travelling from Sarchu to Leh. This is the longest stretch.
  • Carry warm clothes, temperatures drop sharply at night.
