Regarding the Everest Helicopter Tour as well as how to enjoy holidays in Nepal and around the Himalayas. Everest Helicopter Tour operates all-around the best seasons of the year, except for monsoon wet rainy months. From mid-June to the middle of September months, the best time is spring and autumn/fall.
As well in the winter months of Christmas and New Year till February, most days are crystal clear for views. However, freezing temperatures during early morning and late afternoon require heavy warm clothes to carry for the flight to Everest.
Spring, autumn, or winter all travelers need to prepare for the cold, as well wind-chill factors add extra cold.
WHERE AND WHEN TO VIEW MT. EVEREST AT CLOSEST DISTANCE:
Himalaya Holiday Service Everest Helicopter Tour does not land at the Everest base camp, nor any helicopter companies. The landing at Everest Base Camp is not safe, due to its rough ground of rocks, moraine, and ice. In the past decades existed a temporary Helipad, but gets washed by the movement of glaciers, rock falls, and frequent avalanches. The other big reason is not eco-friendly it will cause disturbance in beautiful natural wonderful locations. The base camp is made of fragile ice, snow, and glaciers; the noise and sound of propellers. As well the main rotor blades will destroy the tranquilness of the pristine surroundings.
However base camp at 5,364 m high is not the best spot for views of
Mt. Everest. It is blocked and obstructed by the towering peaks of Nuptse, Lhotse, Lingtrin, and adjoining mountain ranges.
The right spot is a little above the small settlement of Gorakshep and near the bottom of the high Kalapathar rocky hill. It is also a historical place where the world's highest environmental day was observed on 04th December 2009.
The exact place with good ground, enough space for a Helipad, where all Helicopter makes a soft and safe landing. Great scenic spot for breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, and Mt. Pumori at a close distance from the ground.
ROUTES TO CLOSEST VIEWS OF MT. EVEREST:
