Umbria is as beautiful for tourists as it is for Tuscany, it is full of beautiful mountain villages, beautiful churches, and beautiful countryside. I think Siena is the best city to visit in Tuscany, but I have to admit that, like Florence, it does nothing to attract me, but the atmosphere is magical.

Matera, known as Stone City, is one of the most remote tourist destinations in the southern state of Basilicata. The beautiful city of Matera was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1993 and is one of the most beautiful places in Italy. It is more interesting in my opinion than most of the most popular cities. That’s why I included it in my list of the best places in Italy.

The island of Sardinia is famous for its Bronze Age architecture, Roman ruins, and churches in Pisan. As a thriving city, Siena's historic center is one of the most famous in Italy as it retains many works of art and crafts from the Middle Ages.

Tuscany is teeming with places of great beauty to visit the region because of its proximity to the mountainous cities of Florence, Siena, Pisa, and Luca.

Do not miss the picturesque city of Spello, whose narrow streets are lined with ancient Roman walls, impressive castles, and the Roman aqueduct Spoleto. There are also well-known coastal towns such as Portovenere and the West Levante. These five beautiful blue, yellow, and pink fishing grounds, surrounded by lush green hills, form Cinque Terre National Park, one of Italy's most popular tourist destinations.

Rome is a vast city of ruins, remnants, and memories of more than 2,000 years - one of the most fascinating places in Italy and the world.

The list of best places in Italy would not be complete without Rome, the Italian capital with Instagram and one of the most beautiful cities to celebrate in the world. Rome has much more to offer than excellent fountains and monuments, but part of its magic lies in its narrow streets, unusual shops, and squares of love. As the number one choice, I think Rome is the first place to visit Italy.

The natural beauty of the country is often overlooked by first-time tourists with many of the most beautiful cities to visit in Italy. Italy is a place where beautiful cities, beautiful villages, mighty mountains, celestial beaches, art, archeology, and the like can be found and it is also a country with the highest concentration of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, delicious food, and fine wine. The beautiful southern cities of Italy like Matera, cities like Florence, Naples, and Amalfi, and the coast of Cinque Terre are spoiled for choice by visiting all the places in Italy.

There is an Italian city or region that you can see from all the travelers from the ancient Roman streets, the waterways of Venice, the peaceful beauty of Italian lakes, and the splendor of the Amalfi Coast. From the best attractions in Italy, you will find impressive Italian regions, islands, coastal areas, beautiful small towns, beautiful landscapes, and beautiful plains.

With so many beautiful places to find in Italy, it may be difficult to narrow down the list of the most beautiful cities in Italy. Here is an inside guide of the best places and cities you can visit in Italy and where to stay if you have a good couple or family - including Venice, Rome, Florence, the Amalfi coast, Milan, the Italian lakes in Sicily and Puglia. Here is our process of selecting the top ten cities in Italy, each with its own personality and charm.

Italy is one of the world's most popular vacation destinations, and it is not surprising. A trip to Italy, especially for the first time, involves visiting many cities and towns.

The time you spend in Italy determines how many places you visit. In one day you can take a day trip from Tuscany to Florence and visit a few small towns. You can visit San Marino and take another trip to Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, or Tuscany.

Many travelers choose the ancient route through Rome, Florence, and Venice on the sidewalk to Tuscany. However, if you want to find the true side of Italy, consider visiting at least a few places in each region. Emilia-Romagna is probably the most popular in Italy and many tourists rarely visit.

Sardinia is one of the best destinations in Italy that you can add to your wish list if you are looking for a destination that includes beautiful beaches, historical sites, and outdoor adventures. The beautiful island of Sardinia receives fewer non-Italian and non-European tourists than the Amalfi coast or the coast of Cinque Terre but that is sad, for it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in Italy.

Venice is one of the best places in Italy to visit for the first time. If you are planning a trip to Pisa, check out our full descent into Pisa and why it is one of the places you should visit on your first visit to the country.

A trip to northern Italy is not complete without taking your toes to your destination. From the picturesque town of Sorrento, in the heart of the Amalfi Coast to Pompeii and the suburbs of Capri, you are spoiled for choice among the nearby cities you can explore. Visit the small coastal Liguria, not far from Cinque Terre, and visit five small villages on beautiful cliffs.
