With the summer travel season swiftly approaching, individuals are finding deals wherever possible and daydreaming about both nostalgic and new destinations to visit. Every year, without fail, there are certain locations that draw in larger crowds than others. While the allure of these destinations is not to be undermined by their congested traffic patterns, this crowded feeling can definitely take away some of their charm.
As you look to journey on the path less traveled this summer, consider visiting these alternative summer travel destinations picked out by Michael Dupont of CBS.
Vermont, USA
Usually visited in the fall for its foliage and in the winter for its impressive mountains built for skiing, Vermont isn’t usually too high on travelers’ bucket lists when it comes to choosing a summer trip. Asturias, Spain
