A Weekend of Quiet Luxury in the Hills of Ho Tram

Discovering a hidden villa in Ho Tram where peace, space, and silence meet under the trees

Hidden at the foot of a hill. Exactly where we needed to be

Sometimes, the best getaways aren’t where everyone goes — they’re where you almost didn’t.

I didn’t expect much when we decided to escape the noise of Ho Chi Minh City for a couple of days. No big itinerary, no fancy plans — just a simple wish for stillness.

We headed to Ho Tram, a beach town about two hours away, known more for its sand and sun than hidden villas. But that’s where the story shifts.

Balcony moments — no talking, just breathing

The Place We Didn’t Know We Needed

Just outside the touristy areas, right at the base of a low hill, we found a villa unlike any I’d stayed at. It wasn’t massive. It wasn’t flashy. But it was peaceful in a way that felt rare.

Six bedrooms, surrounded by trees. Two outdoor jacuzzis under the sky. A kitchen we actually used, and a balcony where we spent more time talking than scrolling.

There were no resort check-ins, no uniforms, no buffet lines. Just us, the breeze, and some jazz playing softly while dinner grilled on the BBQ.

It’s not just where you sleep, it’s how you wake up that matters

What Mornings Sounded Like

Birds. That’s it. No traffic. No construction. No shouting. Just birdsong through the trees and the occasional rustle of wind.

I had coffee on the terrace each morning and didn’t say a word for almost 30 minutes — not because I was tired, but because it felt sacred not to.

This living room wasn’t for scrolling — it was for stories, games, and naps

Why This Place Was Different

We’ve all seen the glossy resorts and five-star escapes. They’re beautiful, yes — but also crowded, structured, and often, disconnected.

This villa felt like the opposite. Private, spacious, and just close enough to the beach to get there when you want... but far enough to avoid the noise.

It was perfect for our group of friends (12 of us), but honestly, I’d come back with just one person and stay longer.

Two outdoor jacuzzis, zero worries
